As I usually do two music countdowns at the same time, which means it's time for a new one. The theme here is songs with "new" in the title. We are at #10: "New Girl Now" by Honeymoon Suite. Written by guitarist Derry Grehan, "New Girl Now" is the first track from the Canadian band's 1984 debut album. The song was also Honeymoon Suite's first single. It reached #23 in Canada, but despite lots of radio play (Grehan won a SOCAN Award after the song was played over 100,000 Canadian radio plays,) stalled at #57 on the Billboard Hot 100. I've linked to a live version, recorded in Niagra Falls, that shows off the band's arena rock chops. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

It's definitely not something that KROQ would play, that's for sure. You probably wouldn't have heard it.

Sorry was, going to comment on this but think something distracted me. I blame it on my ADD. I cannot believe one these shows played a cool song. Usually some Mariah Cairy or Jenifer Lopez. Love that song.

I almost spaced it out. Luckily, it popped into my head as I was compiling the list.

Thank you for NOT including the "official video." That video was such a hairband nightmare.....

@teamfreak16 -- then again, the video for the song could be a parody of hair bands. I mean, it's way over the top, more so than this song really would suggest.

You're welcome. This was better. I think that hair metal is only popular with a few of us on here. I like a lot of it, but a lot of it I couldn't stand.
