Writers Unblocked

United Kingdom

Staring at a blank screen or paper, imagining your characters freeze in confusion waiting for their next command, that other story imprisoned in your memory stick for months. Writer's block sucks big toe, especially for perfectionists. My trick is to jot down scenarios no matter how silly they may seem as it keeps the mind ticking. Then quite suddenly, whether it be in the shower, on a walk, or most annoyingly, in the middle of the night, you know exactly where the story should go. Even if you've had to skip along the plot line and connect it up later. How do you unblock so creativity can flow?

Joe Defensive has a M20 that can send a 3.5-pound rocket with a diameter of 2.36 inches flying at any page. The rocket has 8 ounces of pentolite, a powerful explosive that can penetrate as much as 5 inches of paper writing blocks. Thank goodness the blocks are only on paper.

@amastem I think it was a scene from that old animated movie toy story or something lol Joe was that fourth guy from the left or maybe the movie in the museum, have you seen that one? All we need is a little imagination.

Maybe do some nosey people watching and pretend your story is continuing whenever something interesting happens. A festival is probably better than a library!

I better imagine the things and then analyse the outcome

Good idea, I think writers block gets worse if we analyse first rather than letting the imagination run wild first
