I was totally paralysed

No, I was not really paralyzed. Princess was holding me down. Some nights she wants to sleep with us, others, not. Some nights, whether I am on my back or side, she finds a way to be cozy up around my chest or shoulder level. Yesterday I tried to drink extra water all day. Needless to say I was up and down a few times. I am certain she does not even weigh ten pounds, but she is able to hold me down, in bed, like a ton of bricks. It might have something to do with the blankets and flannel sheets as well. In those conditions it is hard to hurry. I have heard of sleep paralysis. . . but I had awake and needing to go paralysis. Luckily it only happened a couple of times.

Our cat doesn't lay on chest. Laps yes, but not chest. We don't like flannel bedding. Cotton is our kind.

We do not use much heat, so switch to flannel in the winter. With tons of blankets.

Ah... memories of "Will you answer the door? I have a cat on my lap."

She probably helps keep you warm on cold nights :)

Definitely. And who needs a weighted blanket, just add one cat.

My cat lays on my legs and prevents me from getting up to use the bathroom. And occasionally he'll try to plop his fat butt down on my head.

That would be hard to sit up as well. Yes, your head will stay warm. I have had cats that liked to "comb" my hair. I believe they liked something in the shampoo.

@GardenGerty My cat will "groom" me when my hair is wet. He plops down behind me on the sofa and will start licking away at my head. I always wonder if it's the water he's after, the shampoo, or if he's just telling me I didn't do a good enough job bathing.

I like her to sleep on my feet or between us. It has not been that cold for her though.

That's too familiar to me. Sonny James kitty weighs about 17.5 pounds. When he comes and lays on me I am a goner.
