Today in 1903 in Kitty Hawk, NC, Orville Wright piloted a plane for 12 seconds of powered flight while his brother Wilbur ran along beside---and the age of aviation launched into life! Friday (the fifteenth), President Trump declared that http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2017/12/sunday_is_wright_brothers_day.html today is Wright Brothers Day---meaning that we get ... no, that we take ... no, that we ... we ... "we celebrate their extraordinary contribution to the strength and success of our Nation" ... somehow ... A little bit of searching revealed that the day was also declared by Obama & Eisenhower!

I imagine that the same POTUS would have declared in 1903 that it was a waste of money with no future, and would have refused to fund the researches of the Wright like did the US army at the time.
