Bothered

I have been getting a lot of negative comments lately on my posts and I am getting bothered by them. Its all because of my financial situation which has gotten better now thanks. For example, people are asking why I go to Toys for Tots for Christmas help when I just bought a new iPhone. Really? Yes I was struggling a little but I have had a lot of nice sales since my struggle. Like the old saying goes "it only gets worse before it gets better." Another example is when I couldn't pay my monthly payment for my credit card. Just so everyone knows, my financial situation has gotten better since. Thanks. So stop commenting negativity or I will just decide to block you instead....Sorry for venting but this is true. Thanks for listening....

Honestly, I agree with them mostly.. as you bought yourself a new phone, instead of getting your kid Christmas gifts, to where you got help from toys for tots.. where's I know people who really can't get their kids gifts, but can't do things like toys for tots either as they're told they make too much even though after bills and stuff they hardly have any money to use. So their kids literately go without on Christmas. But! There is a nice way to say things, and a mean way. And I'm sorry people are so harsh to you here.

its ok i am used to it. i sold my iphone and sales have been getting better. toys for tots is kind of automatic thanks to his schooling too. we just have to give a small list each year of what toys they would like. i am just glad things are slowly getting better for me now

@carebear29 Oh I know that, as my mom was signed up for my brother and I every year from being a single parent with low income. But, I believe people are mad because you bought a phone for yourself, when you had one that you just didn't want, instead of buying gifts or even food for your kid especially when you've been known to say you're struggling with money. But thats why you shouldn't be so personal. Least not with money and stuff like that.

People can only comment on the details you provide. I know it's tough to receive comments that criticize your choices, but you can't dictate what another person posts. You can only control how you react to them. If you feel that it's necessary to block people because their comments are hurtful, you should do that. I think I read a couple of those comments that you're venting about today. I can see where those questions would come up, because it often seems like you prioritize your wants over things that will help your son. I haven't been active in quite a while, so I haven't been keeping up with your posts, but it has often seemed that your financial situation is cyclical. You struggle, make a few sales, and it improves briefly until the money is spent and you're struggling again. I'm pretty sure that I've offered in the past to help you if you'd like to make lasting changes to your financial situation. The offer still stands whenever you're ready to take me up on it.

@carebear29 Not even the future and retirement? An emergency fund so you don't have to fret and freak out about where money to repair the vehicle or buy groceries will come from?

I have to admit I have shaken my head at a couple of your posts. When you talk about shopping and buying a lot of stuff, getting an iphone, but then you admit you need to go to the food pantry it doesn't make you sound good. However, I would hope people wouldn't turn that into thinking it's okay to be mean about it. We all struggle with something, you just don't always know what that thing is.

I always like how people criticize but offer no help. i am not talking about giving money but saying hey I have an opportunity for you. People so silly, they say people lazy and do not want to work then offer them some work and see but never do, sorry you not skilled enough. Some excuse, then shut up ahole. Life should not be that hard in these times but sure is.I am glad things are better for you and no one has the right to judge unless they have walked in your shoes.

Sorry people are being so judgmental and cruel to you. I don't know you personally or your situation, and I'm in no position to judge. People seem to think if you are poor you should never buy anything "frivolous" for yourself (a phone is pretty much essential these days, and it's no one's business how you spend your money anyway.) They act the same way if you happen to own something "nice" but see you paying for groceries with an EBT card. People who struggle financially are not supposed to ever buy anything nice for themselves, or accept nice gifts, or even hang onto something nice they bought when they were doing better off financially. To my understanding, there is no way to abuse the Toys for Tots program, either you qualify or you don't.

They probably don't mean to be so brash. So you bought an iphone and went to toys for tots. Maybe the iphone will help you and it's something you needed and you can make money with it. Sometimes when your dealing with a short budget you have to make the best choice you can. And sometimes people blow all their money on something like a body vibration bike that they really don't need. Alas, the trouble with money.
