I woke up from my nap and my head is pounding. Usually i nap and fine when i wake. I don't have any tylenol or advil but ny friend offered. Its pounding and if i eat it seems to be less of a pounding. Iam laying in bed with the lights off with a cold pack on my head which a friend suggested.

I rarely get headaches as I find that by drinking about 6 glasses of room-temperature water each day on and empty stomach and avoiding junk food prevents me from getting any. I used to get them but these days the most I ever get is a slight headache. I don't know it this would help other people. I hope your goes away soon!

@1hopefulman I bet you are onto something. I am not good at drinking enough water and yes, I have headaches.

@sallypup I read something about the wonders of water in a Reader's Digest magazine and it has helped me make it to 68.

I take two Bayer aspirins. Which is best thing for a headache. I hope your headache is gone now.

The simplest way is to inhale a piece of crushed garlic. If possible try to rub slightly on the forehead. Soon you feel it is gone.

If I get a migraine, I know the routine...and I also know that not much can or will help. You have to ride out the storm with that one. *But* if it's a sinus headache (and I can always tell the difference, usually get one before a snowstorm) - here's what I do. And this works, better than any pill you can take or anything else. I force myself to start coughing really hard, hard enough to make me sneeze. And then I start sneezing....sometimes 10 in a row....and then I blow my nose....and boom, sinus headache GONE. Try it. See if you have a sinus headache. Because you might.

It is good to avoid sugar and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, and very little carbs.. Also good quality water..Also good fats like organic coconut oil and butter and organic eggs..and nuts - I have almost no headaches any more..

It all depends on the severity. If it's just a mild headache, I ignore it. If it's getting to be a bit much, I'll take a tylenol. And if it's really bad, I'll take the tylenol and lie down for a nap. Hope your headache goes away soon.

If get headache then I will opt for taking 'steam' which can give a quick relief. I will try to drink more water, sometimes less water intake is also a reason for headache.

I get them quite frequently thanks to a medication I take. I take a couple Vanquish, hole up in my room, and nap for a bit. That usually gets rid of it pretty quickly. Occasionally I find it's due to a pinched nerve in my neck, and then I wind up using a warm corn bag to try loosening the muscles so I can get it unpinched. If that doesn't work, off to the chiropractor for an adjustment.

I feel for you. I've napped but a headache is plaguing me anyway. Ibuprofen will probably beat back the ache but my eyes will continue to not see right and i will continue to be exhausted. Sure no fun.
