Let's face it, we live in a time where everything is lists, files, and contacts at the press of a single button. Sure I remember immediate family birthdays but beyond that, I'm hopeless. Give me my calendar filled with birthdays, appointments, events, meetings the list goes on. It's not just birthdays I have a problem with either. I also have a problem with phone numbers, addresses, even names. Some people I only know by first name. Sure many will say it's natural for my line of work , but shouldn't we protect our minds better? With so many concerns about Alzheimer's and Dementia maybe we a breeding the downfall of our own minds with this new way of living. Everything at the press of a button. Do you have a hard time remember someone's birthday? I couldn't even tell you the address of my favorite place to shop. Sure I could tell you the city, but do you know the address? So in 2018, I have pledged to take better care of my mind. It all starts with entering in a phone number not just pressing "call". Learning the address of places I go, and not just looking at my calendar. I plan to use my mind memorizing and recalling things the traditional way. They even have brain games and other healthy mind exercises. How confident are you in your minds health?

Yes, I have problems remembering people birthdays and mobile numbers. Addresses comes easier to me. I guess it is a matter of remembering numerical digits.

I remember the birthdays of all my family members, our friends and even of most of my husband clients. I do not use electronic gadgets, I rely on my memory and I use a wall calendar for my appointments.

I think we are too much depended on the digital world and gadgets which take away from the natural ability to remember things. It is time to stop and practice some memory lessons for restoring our wonderful ability to store things in our own brain and recollect it. I was very particular on remembering birthdays but these days I can observe I too failing to remember on the 'day' morning time. I can even remember the dates very well but on the particular day I forgot.
