Since the temperature these days is becoming colder, that I have to wear some of my worn-out old sweaters, I decided to bring out from our cabinet, my comforter. I used it last night. I felt some comfort and warmth lying on bed that I immediately slept soundly last night. I woke up at 4AM though, and I still felt the coldness that is why I did not stand up right away. I did not go for my training however, because I had headache and mild chest pains. So I had to call up the staff nurse-on-duty for the night shift, and told her that I will have my make-up duty on Saturday. Well actually, I make my own schedule but I prefer my duty every weekday and weekends are my off days. Holidays, we are also off. Do you use your comforter, or your thick blanket, when it is cold at night?

No, we don't have comforters, because I hate how weighty it is when being folded after sleeping. But we do have blankets that are thick and I have to change mine and hubby's to thick ones, last Sunday. The weather is getting so cold now, and I am loving it so much.

i do not fold completely my comforter. i just fan-fold it at the foot's edge of the bed. that way, it is easier for me to use that because i just draw up the top side on to my body.

@ridingbet Is it also very cold there when the cold front is in full swing by January and February. Here it is. Though, we did experience a very, very cold climate because of that, maybe 3 years ago. The next years were milder.

I just use a thicker blanker. I don't like the comforter because it's too heavy to wash and rinse. =) For the past two nights, I am already using a pajama and socks. It's too cold at home...

hija, why don't you machine-wash and dry your comforter? set the timer to just 10 minutes in slow rate. i wash my comforter using the washing machine and dryer. i wear shorts, contradicting to the cold climate. heheh!

@ridingbet I am not sure if it will fit inside the washer Ate and surely it won't fit inside the spinner. When my mother washes it, she washes it by foot (ibaddek baddek na laengen). Hihihi I also wear shorts but I also put on a pajama. Hihihihi

of course if we chill, we cannot sleep, so we must keep our bodies warm in a cold temperature

if it is cold there and it makes you sick, it is better to keep our bodies at the normal body temperature by putting on sweaters and jackets. cold climate is usually expected in December, and i see some people who do not dress appropriately, like wearing sleeveless shirts, but they shiver. i guess some just show off that they can endure the cold, but maybe their bodies cannot tolerate the cold.

you are lucky that you can really feel the cold weather of December. Here in Manila especially in our area, we can't really enjoy the cold air because maybe of too many cars thatm are passing by which cause the air to become warm.

oh, so is the kid your nephew or niece? when your room is air-conditioned, you might need those thick blankets like the duvet.

i imagine Switzerland as the land with snow-covered mountains. just like your profile picture now where you 'wear a wool hood', but that is just edited, right?

i presume your room is always air-conditioned, am i right? a comforter is good to cover our bodies especially during the cold season here.

wow, a wool blanket is better than a comforter. but it can also make one sweat because the blanket give too mych warmth, right? i will still prefer the comforter; otherwise, if i am in a country where there is snow, i might use a wool blanket.
