That might seem like a strange question but this can be anything from gaming: The Sims 4 to secondlife or any other game that takes you out of this world for a short time. I love escaping into virtual worlds. I am content with my real life but some people tend to think along the lines of escaping into a virtual environment means that there are shortcomings or deficiencies in your real life, I don't buy that! No, for me this is personal me time. In the virtual world I am rich hooray! In the virtual world I have a lovely home with all the trimmings! Virtual worlds can be fun as long as they do not take over real life! So, do you go virtual?

Some people see their sims as their extensions.

I play Sims but I dont treat the sims as Avatars, I see them as pets for me torture. I like removing the ladder from Swimming pools. I like making them eat the cake from cowplant. I am a God controlling lives of people on Sims.

While I don't go virtual, I go behind the lens which is really my own personal hobby as well as work. And we do this when we watch movies or sports. So, virtual reality really isn't any different than a movie marathon night. Everyone needs downtime and we all do it differently. I think when it starts to interfere with one's everyday life that's when there should be a concern. Just like sitting in front of the t.v. all day or eating too much food. My daughters play a game where they build a world and they are really learning a lot about responsibility from the game. Buying and selling, growing things. Supply and demand.

That all sounds great. Yes, I think I have just about got the balance right! I only ever spend an hour at a time on the console and looking after those sims in the virtual world, it's a little bit of fun! Building worlds is also a good thing to do. I think some games can really stimulate the brain.
