Actors A-Z Jack Albertson Many people may remember Jack Albertson as the grouchy garage owner in Chico and the Man. A TV show that was popular, but when Freddie Prince died, the show faltered and only lasted one more season. You may also remember him as the grandfather in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I always wondered why he stayed in bed if he was able to go out into the world. Maybe, he just needed a good reason to get up. He also won a Tony award and Academy award for the same role in The Subject was Roses. He had a great career, and really worked each of his characters. Do you remember Jack Albertson? Picture is public domain.
Take an unforgettable, uniquely magical, musical journey through the deliciously delightful, whimsically wonderful world of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Fac...

He's had all kinds of roles. I thought I read he was the helicopter pilot in an episode of I Love Lucy, but I might have read it wrong.

@misunderstood_zombie - I was just a kid, but I thought Freddie Prinze was hilarious. So sad that he killed himself.

Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory is based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Another version came out about ten years ago starring Johnny Depp.
