Tragedy strikes Chez Horse

As you know, I have a thing for chickens. Maybe it's because they remind me of humans, self-seriously clucking about the yard, looking for bugs to eat. Anyway, my kitchen decor was complete when I found this rooster kitchen towel at my local Dollar Tree. I hung it on my oven railing, and it looked lovely. My kitchen shone like a Midwestern farmhouse. And then, one morning, not unlike any other morning, my coffee spilled, sullying my precious kitchen towel. I soaked it in Oxyclean for two days, and it is now drying in my bathroom. I ask you, in this difficult time, to send your thoughts and prayers to me and my chicken kitchen towel. I think it's going to be OK, but one is never sure.

I'm letting it dry now. We shall see. Do you think I should start a new reality show?

@rebelann My speaker refinishing show is a great success. Watching stain dry is very soothing for many. It's rated slightly higher than Deadliest Catch right now. But "Restoring Dollar Store Items with Other Dollar Store Items" is bound to be a new hit.

But the cool thing is that coffee color can make your towel look vintage - a happy accident perhaps?

@much2say has a very good point. If you are not happy with the stain removal attempt, just simply coffee stain the entire towel.

Your kitchen towel will be in my thoughts and prayers ... just like the Republicans say every time there is a mass shooting. I am sure they are very sincere, too!

Let young chickens sleep this time with you; some people say there is a crazy old man who visit children's room hiding. He may give them more towel.

Maybe I am that crazy old man. I do have access to some nice chickens. But I'd feel bad about chickennapping.

I think it dd come out, but I'm surprised by how long it took. After my first soak (of about 6 hours), I thought I was doomed.

Well, was the Oxyclean effective? I once used it to get a ketchup stain out of a hockey jersey.

It was. That stuff is great, especially if you're patient and soak for a long time.
