I was planning to spend my December to clean and organize my home, hence I decided not to make any Christmas gifts for my children as I did. Crocheting or sewing does take time. Some time before Christmas, my eldest son was talking to me and asking if Santa would visit us this year, and he has put up the Christmas sock. I used to give them little gifts since 1 December until Christmas, but this year I haven't make or give them any. He has been waiting.
In order not to totally disappoint the kids, I quickly crocheted these simple presents and a Christmas tree for them. I have three kids, so now I always have to make three items, I just have to choose something really simple to make. I am glad I managed to complete them before Christmas, and they were happy to receive the little gifts, though they are really simple gifts.
Happy Holiday to everyone!!

@Tina30219 Thanks!
I thought of that too, as I enjoy making them and like to see kids playing with handmade toys, but at last I decided not to make it at this moment, as I can't really find time to make them.

I guess moms always have this organizing task on their list. How do you manage to call your kids to join you cleaning and organizing? I am trying hard to do this with my 2 elder kids who are 5 and 8. I suppose with a big family, you might get more help.

@mom210 How about the elder kids? I always thought the elders help out the most. It's good that your kids help a lot at home. I have been asking my 5 and 8 year old kids to do the house work, they know how to do and help to do the work sometimes, but they seem to be too busy with their own work and play all the time, and haven't make it a habit to share the responsibility of housework daily. I wonder if I am too demanding or haven't find a good way to encourage them to do so.
I always admire you that you can take care of such a big family and handle everything well. I am still learning to handle just 3 kids.

Thanks. I actually didn't know about Santa when I was older, but I was over the age of believing Santa does exist. Though my kids know these are made by me, they still happily think these are the gifts Santa gave them, they think Santa asked me to make it for them. I think it's good for kids to still live in magical world, perhaps it's good for adults too.

Thanks. I am sure the kids won't mind the house being messy, but they are happier to receive any gifts from me. If they mind, they would have help out more in cleaning up the house. They prefer playing and enjoy contributing to the mess most of the time.
