Will you be out celebrating in the community, like in NYC? Will you be at home celebrating with your family and friends? Will you be watching the football games? Or.. reading a good book? What does New Year's Eve mean to you? In our home, we gather as a family, feasting on food, watching movies, playing games. Saying goodbye to the year behind us and all that we have faced, leaving it in its place. Greeting the New Year has always been a joy to our family. We talk about hopes and dreams, things we want to do, would like to try. New Year's Eve for us is a big event. Everyone encourages each other, set realistic goals, and we try to help each other come out of our shells a bit, our comfort zone. When the clock strikes midnight, we cheer, hug, laugh and fill the air with love. Then things get cleaned up, everyone changes get our sleeping heads to bed. It's a moment of gratification knowing you completed a whole year. A feeling of accomplishment arises and gives way to a knowing... A knowing... that all I have been through, seen and done I didn't do it alone but with family, friends, co-workers, my support group, my anchor, my love.

These days New Year is nothing special to me. I shall be at home trying to find decent television shows to watch.

@WendySpickerman So do I, but doubt it considering what British television is like.

I will be babysitting on New Year's Eve and we will have our Bible study. We will talk about what we have been through as well and how God carried us through it all. =)

Usually, we would watch New Year CineAwards or other TV shows as a family. We would have food and snacks to eat. But tomorrow we will be going to Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib for New Years.
