As I watched the New Year's Eve celebrations on television last night, I couldn't help remembering my very first New Year's Eve party and my very first boyfriend. On that memorable night many years ago, he took me to a crowded house party.
It was an exciting time for me, but was spoiled by his regular disappearance for long intervals. Two days later I was informed that he was seen having the time of his life with a young lady at another house party just a block away.
Seems he had taken two of us out that night - that explained his absences and the reason why he took me home just after midnight.
Do you recall a New Year's Eve that was memorable in some way - whether good or bad? How did it go for you on the last evening of 2017?

For the past 18 years, I have spent New Years Eve at Disney World with my family. Each and every time it has been wonderful and memorable. And I can't think of any time in the past where I haven't had a great New Year's celebration. One that does stand out though is the NYE of 1999. Remember how everyone was so worried about Y2K and what would happen if our computers and technology all crashed? I remember being at a big party with my wife that night and everybody was glued to the TV that night waiting to see what would happen to all our computers, electrical grid, technology, etc. It turned out to be no big deal in the end, but it was kind of funny that we were all so worried!

@Kandae11 Spending a week at Disney from Christmas Day through New Years Day has become our family tradition ever since my daughter was born.

@Kandae11 He was slippery but hard to shake off. I wonder if after he took you home, he went and took the other girl home?

@1hopefulman Usually those parties go until the morning. He was rude enough to tell me that at least he was with me when the clock struck midnight. But then, he took me home and went back for another four or five hours of partying - with the other young lady.

He was a loser and I hope you dumped him after that night.

Sadly a lot of us have met jerks like that especially in our younger years of dating. Last night was a quiet evening at home watching movies.

Interestingly, I had a memorable New Years Eve once at Disney World as well. It was a fun place to be. I remember Kevin Bacon and his brother played on Main Street I didn't think they were that great. I had a fun time at a friend's party once on New Years too..we played charades.

That's creepy he was dating two people, I was in bed before the ball dropped on the television, when we were younger we would go to parties but not now...
