There is a condition that makes a person unable to see and recognize faces. That is the one I mentioned on the title. The person I met remembers people base on their voice and hairstyle.Maybe he can recognize skihtone but all faces looks blank to him. I don't kno why people with this condition can't see faces but in their ees, everyone have blank faces. It is not as bad as being blindnsince they can at least see but not being able to see faces might be a challenge when it comes to socializing. The person I met takes note about people base on how they dress, talk and their voice.

I've only read about it but never met someone with that. I heard that some cannot even recognize their own face! I've always wondered how it is only faces they have trouble with . . . I wondered if this is with objects, places, or animals as well. Being around family where everyone might similar must be so confusing! Happy New Year!!

The person I met said he can read. But he doesn't know what a face looks like.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I wonder if it's that they can see facial features, but they cannot distinguish the differences . . . like all faces are the same to them? I wonder if they can see a face in a photo, or a drawing or painting.

They can actually read and see other things clearly but they can't see faces. They will recognize you by your voice, smell, and hairstyle.

It is amazing how the body will make adjustments to compensate for where personal ability in an area isn't the norm! My grandmother was legally blind so she didn't see faces but remembered people by sound their voice and how they walked!
