New years was not a blast

Thank goodness, we got a little break from people here celebrate with guns, they shoot in the air, for hours and do the noisy fire works.
It was not as noisy as last year and didn't last long, so I was able to relax, it has been so bad in the past, my cats are so terrified, they are inside, but you can hear it like explosions.
The dog slept through the noise, the cats hid, but all is well.
I just think that the guns, should not be fired, and the noisy fireworks, should not go off. I know others enjoy that type of celebration, but we do not.

Here in the suburbs of Riga, Latvia it always sounds like a war going off as fireworks go up but they do look lovely as they explode overhead.

no these are not pretty, they only make noise, they are called noisy neighbors, and designed to upset your neighbor with the explosion sound.

I don't like a whole lot of noise but expect it on New Year's. At least it's over now.

the regular fireworks the city puts on the 4th of July are fine, but the ones these people buy are the illegal noise makers.Those are the ones that bother me, some of my friends, had none of that in their neighborhood.
