was thinking this morning about another New Years..' 15 to '16. Just thought I would get this off my chest and move on. For 7 yrs. I had lived with my son in AZ. He was buying the house and since he said he would always be there to help me till the end, I helped him by paying half his mortgage , paying on furniture, and half utilities, buying extra food which he ate most of etc. 2 yrs. after I was there he got into a long distance relationship with a gal from New York. She visited a few times but no matter how I tried she did not like me right off.
She would not go for moving in with us but wanted him to move to New York, minus mom!! I was packing trying to figure where I could go but the only one would take me in was daughter here. Anyway, he went out on New years night to celebrate and brought home a terrible virus of some kind. Sick when he got home and his phone was run down, so I let him use mine to call her since he said she had been trying to call him.
I ended up on oxygen since then cause I already had COPD. Last night I text him Happy new year to both them even though she has not spoken to me or given into him having much to do with me. Finally this morning he text me back saying same to me and she thought my message was sweet.
So anyway, I just need to stop thinking on it and hope we all have a great 2018. but this title was what came to my mind.
Daughter is cooking us a ham. yum. what are you having for today?

Well that's a step on the right direction. I hope your relationship with her continues to get better.
I'm going to eat only things that will help me to stay healthy. I had 10 tangerines for lunch. Later I will eat e apples, bananas, beets, lettuce, zucchinis.

@AmbiePam yes because no matter how mean she was to me, i always treated her with respect made coffee for her, cooked for her, and in general waited on her like i was her daughter.

yes. what ever happened to honoring them. i remember when it was standard to do all you could to make their parents like you. my first mother in law was so mean to me, i always said i would never be like that and i wasn't. in fact when first hubby started dating a tough lady, his mom begged me to go back to him. lol

I remember when all that went down, it was sad then and it is sad now. She will regret being like that someday cause we all know Karma is an -itch and what goes around comes around. A very happy new year to you and I hope that writing about it helped this old wound to heal.

Why doesn't he break up with her if he is not happy in the relationship bonnie? Is there someone that can suggest that to him other than you because of the problems you have with her?

I am sorry your son let a woman get in the way of your relationship with him. So I take it you and him are not close now because of her ? I hope for 2018 you guys can work on your relationship and he will come visit every now and then.

probably not visit. as he can't stand daughters bf and the feeling is mutual. plus, that woman would probably never let him. but we are fine just texting and calling now and then.

well thank you so much. it is strange that every other woman in my 3 sons lives have liked me. all this ones other relationships are still friends of mine for years. that should have told him something on my behalf . i still have one in AZ that calls me to see how i am that he broke up with yrs back and she would still come over and cook for me and clean and visit before i had to leave.
you seem to be quite the kind and caring friend anyone could have also.

well i probably don't have a lot of time left so it better be soon. lol. yes the excuse mostly for him was he was in love with this one. just the same he should have planned better for me. i have no idea what it was with her. only thing i can think is she was jealous of his affection maybe.

no you did not understand what i was saying. it is my son that practically threw me out of his house after i helped him pay on it for 7 yrs and moved to new york to stay with a girlfriend that did not want me around.

i have no idea. i tried doing everything possible to raise my kids right and loved them always letting them know it. out of 5 i have only 2 that seem to still care. not sure where i went wrong.
