Favorite "Highway" Songs #8 - "Highway Lady"

Soon, with warmer weather on the horizon, my girlfriend and I will be setting up our van and hitting the road, camping and seeing/doing things we haven't done. In celebration of our upcoming search for adventure, @JohnRoberts suggested a countdown of my favorite songs with "highway" in the title. We are at #8: "Highway Lady" by UFO. Hard rockers UFO formed in 1969 in London, and despite numerous personnel changes and a couple hiatuses, are still going strong all these decades later. While vocalist Phil Mogg has been the group's only constant, notable members have included Andy Parker, Michael Schenker, Vinnie Moore, Pete Way, Bernie Marsden, Neil Carter, Aynsley Dunbar, Jason Bonham, and Atomik Tommy M. Wikipedia best describes the band as a "transitional group between early hard rock/metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal." "Highway Lady" is an album cut (it was released as a single in Japan only) from UFO's 1976 album, No Heavy Petting, performed by Mogg, Schenker, Way, Parker, and Danny Peyronel (who penned the song,) the band's first full-time keyboardist. Naturally, "Highway Lady," being written by a keyboardist and all, is fairly keyboard-heavy (Michael Schenker's guitar solo is a bit short for my tastes,) and UFO could definitely rock harder when they were in the mood, but this one is a piece of good, solid rock and roll! Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Probably next month or two. We are going to try to stay local and work out all of our trial and error stuff first. Make sure we have the van totally working, things like that.

Yeah, I remember them and this song. A good song. And, on a fashion note, I'll bet Quiet Riot envied those pants in the video's picture......

It's a good, solid rock song. These guys could do this sort of stuff in their sleep.
