How's your new year so far?

I know, we've only had one day of 2018 so far, but I hope it's off to a good start for you. We had a wonderful New Year's holiday. We met five of our kids and grands at a resort condo in Myrtle Beach, SC to celebrate my birthday (Dec 29) and the holiday. This is the second year so I'm hoping it will be a tradition. The kids had gifts and a cake for me when we got there Friday night. The next day we went to our favorite giant seafood buffet. It's delicious, but you end up paying for a buffet that includes every food known to man when most people just want the seafood. The next day, our son, daughter and her husband went on a casino cruise for a few hours while my husband and I kept the 14 and 8 year old. We were looking forward to the fireworks from our balcony New Year's Eve, but they didn't happen! In the summer, the resort shoots fireworks every Saturday night, but a lot of places were having New Year's Eve parties and their own fireworks. We drove home yesterday (Monday) and went to a friend's house for her usual New Year's night supper. Happy New Year to all of you!

Happy Belated Birthday! What is the name of that seafood place? I may make a trip that way and I love knowing where to eat. My New year is good so far.

It's called Original Benjamin's Calabash on 9593 N Kings Hwy. My family loves the crab legs (I don't), but the rest is good. I think it has a 170 item buffet, but so much of it isn't seafood, so the price is high if all you want is seafood. I'd like to find a good, less expensive seafood restaurant with fewer items, but really good seafood.

It sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate. My New Year's like so many others, is cold. I go back to work tomorrow.

Aside from a deep cut on my thumb, everything's doing good since. Belated happy birthday and a happy New Year to you, too!

Like I told Andria, if you go to Myrtle Beach, there are lots of good seafood restaurants. Original Benjamin's seems to be one of the most popular, but unless you want dishes other than the seafood, it doesn't seem worth the price to me. I want to research some other places and see if I can find something I'd like better.

Happy Birthday a little late, we went out to dinner with our daughter and her husband on New Year's Eve and then packed, not too exciting.
