Why cant I download more than 5 apps on my phone!!!

I’m fed up of mid range mobile phones running out of memory. When my HTC Desire 520 finally gave up and I could not reboot it anymore (I held down the start key and pressed the volume button at the same time etc) I was looking forward to buying another phone, chiefly to get more memory so to download more apps. My last one was only 4GB of memory and that was good for about 8 new apps, 6 or less if those downloaded apps were stuff like Whatsapp, Twitter and Facebook messenger. The main issue over space on your phone is the multitudes of preloaded apps are always demanding updates and so you are not left with much GB and MB to download the apps you want. SD cards are no use as you can’t downloads apps on those unless you are an IT engineer by going into the root. You can’t, of course, delete pre-loaded apps. It’s bloody annoying. Half of the quoted memory and space from the moment you boot up your new phone from the package is used up on the operating software and hardware on the phone so the quoted memory and space number disingenuous. I was to find that out when I bought one of Vodafone’s own brand phones on Amazon. I bought it because it was under $100 and offered 8GB of memory so I could download more apps this time. Well I thought I could. Got it up and running and soon realised half the 8GB was used up on just running the phone, and all the generic preloaded apps, and again constantly uploading updates. I have not been able to download more than 8 apps without getting all the warning signs of being low on memory and space and deleting upgrade downloads on most of the older apps. Quite frankly I think it’s a con and these updates are mostly not needed and simply there to bung up peoples phones so they have to buy newer models or burn up more data usage on networks. We know Apple have been caught slowing older Apple phones down to clearly encourage people buying newer models and so it does go on.

Unless you can survive with fewer apps? Or get a cheaper Android smart phone. Like I recently bought a Galaxy J3 and it eas 60 or 70 bucks and I have at least 5 apps downloaded. I am like you where I refuse to pay an arm and a leg for a phone. Seems silly especially if youre strapped for cash.

May be that Apple is not an exception, they annoy people to oblige them to change their phone more often.

You do have the option to not download the updates though right? Did you set all the updates to be downloaded automatically? I know they could take up plenty of space.

stop being cheap and buy a good phone if you want one that can properly handle internet, apps, etc.

@thedevilinme Then stop complaining that your garbage phone is garbage. You don't have to get the newest iPhone X like I did, but at least get something that isn't fecking crap.

I have LG4, 10 apps, I've added. It seems to run fine. Apparently it has fewer preloaded apps than the LG3. So I guess one can find phones with fewer apps.

Well, my uncle’s iPhone 5S has 30 applications and it is running fine! This phone has 16 GB memory built by compNy itself! There is no hanging or anything! It just runs so fast! Well, I guess you benefit to look for Samsung and Apple phones! Thank you!

I agree that it's so annoying that those stupid pre-loaded apps can't be deleted. They take up so much space, and most of them I never use at all.
