I write a lot of poetry. In fact, I am in the process of publishing my first book of poetry. So, I read this morning that there is a college course I probably should have taken. PROSODY: the study of verse, rhyme, etc. The course is for students who want to experiment with different poetic meters. Who knew?

I write a lot of poetry too, but prefer to use my own style. I think you can tinker too much trying to conform to how someone else thinks you ought to write.

I agree with you. I started writing poetry when I was very young. I didn't need any lessons. I'm sure most poets don't.

Thank you for this word. I had forgotten all about it, and if asked, I would not have been able to define it.
