Well, She's "Off" Again!

My sister is always going "off" something. On Sunday, Sis announced that she is "off" caffeine, which is an "off' that occurs at least 5 times a year. Sometimes she is "off" sugar. At other times she is "off" meat. Oh, every now and then, she is "off" carbs. Last month, Sis was "off" diet soda. I believe last summer, Sis was "off" dairy. I know when she is "off" something because all her "offs" make their way to my house. We have our freezer, our pantry, and our refrigerator filled to the brim with Sis's "off" items. When we have no room left to store Sis's "offs," we share those "offs with friends and family. Sis has always made decisions only to have those decisions abandoned a few days, a few weeks, or a few months later. Luckily, those make-then-drop decisions are not of a serious nature. Photo: Baby sis of mine.

I have known certain people to be "off" their rocker ! With foods, I'm more of an "on and off" kinda eater .

I think my sister is off her rocker. She starts and stops things all the time.

So do you give all those things back to her when she's finished being 'off' them?

I used to, but then I told her that I was no longer storing the things she no longer wanted. She used to "give" us non-food items when we had the big house, then she would tell us she wanted an item back. I did put a stop to that behavior. Whatever comes here, stays here.

It's possible but no easy task. I gave up most bad habits for a few years at one time, but now I just mostly limit myself.

That is what Sis should do. She does have a tendency to go to extremes.

I'm technically "off" sugar, caffeine and wheat. But I'm a sucker for sugar, wheat can be hard to avoid if one doesn't like being a nuisance and i find it hard to turn down a social cup of coffee. So I'm probably a lot like your sister

I love that photo is that your sister there as a little girl? Our freezer would not store very much so I am glad I don´t have anyone who goes off things like that. Very funny story the way you tell it and she keeps you on your toes you must admit.

Yes, that is Wendy. I think she must have been 3 years old in that photo. One time, she brought over so much meat we shared it with neighbors because our freezer could not hold it all. She certainly is not getting that giant can of coffee back!!

I've considered going 'off' caffeine @Corbin5 since I drink about 2 pots per day, but "naw" caffeine helps me keep up with the cats.

Sis has 4 cats, and I bet she will be back on the coffee in no time flat. She brought over the biggest can of coffee I have ever seen. She's not getting it back!!

@Corbin5 That's expensive. Unless she pays as she goes. That's still expensive as it cost less if you pay for a longer period of time, but expensive if you don't use it.

So when she is finished with her off period does she come looking for the things she gave you that she was off of?

No, she does not come looking because she used to, and I put an end to that. I did not want our house to be her storage place.

@Corbin5 Good for you Deborah or you would not be able to get inside maybe if she kept going off of things and gave them to you. I do not blame you at all for not wanting your home as a storage area for her.
