No work tomorrow

I just got the call. We are expecting a big snowstorm and 9-12 inches of snow so school is already cancelled for tomorrow. We may not even get in on Friday. I'm glad that they made the call tonight and that they just called the whole thing off. The district is INFAMOUS for waiting until the morning off, then starting off with a delayed opening before finally switching to a closure when any sane person could have told you the night before that it would have been a day off.

It makes sense to wait in some situations but not when you're getting hit with a big storm starting at 3 am.

Our stupid school system would bus the kids to school, in a dangerous blizzard. Then, two ours later, they would bus them on dangerous roads, back to their homes! :(

We have way too many kids and schools for them to attempt that.

I agree! There's nothing worse than getting the call after you're already up, showered, and have had the coffee.

Looks like you're getting hit pretty bad there in NJ. At least you can sleep in tomorrow

Yes they are saying 9-12 inches here at the coast. It will be nice to know that I can sleep until whenever tomorrow and not have to worry about waiting for the call.

Here they only cancel at 6am. They never cancel it the day before. Good that they let you know the night before there.

Sometimes it just makes sense to call it the night before. Why wait until the morning of when everyone knows we are going to get nailed?

It sounds like the heavy snowstorm in your place. I think it is best to stay at home.

We also have that problem with the city officials waiting up to the last moment to declare whether there is classes or none during bad weather. It's the schoolchildren who suffer.
