Trying hard

I am trying hard not to snap. My husband keeps creating money issues and what not. Doesn't budget his money well even with me being him. Today he bought an Xbox 360 card he didn't need instead of using it towards a bill. He wasn't happy we had to pay this landlord something and now we're hoping to move soon so we don't have to pay this landlord. Once we move things will be fine and less stressful. Prayers things get better for me.

Sounds like he wants toys and not responsibility. Can you handle all the bills and give him an allowance to blow on what he wants?

That is definitly one way to look at it. I always say that to people to that if they are working hard for their money they deserve to enjoy it. But all bills and necessities need to be taken care of first before buying any fun stuff.

@shaggin depends. Some work so hard that its pkay to do something or buy something before paying all bills and stuff off.

Did he know about the situation with the landlord before he bought it? Because if he didn't, I can understand why he bought it because he is working for that money. but if he did know about the situation, shame on him.

gadgets were only to cast away dull moments not priority. Perhaps he needs more of counselling of being a responsible person.

Your husband and you shouldn't be spending anything at this time, except for groceries. Moving costs a lot of money, plus your bills should always be paid first.

If you guys are struggling then I agree you with and understand how you feel. He didn't need the card that was money that could have went to important things. My husband was terrible spending money like it grew on trees. My boyfriend is not much better. He makes four times the amount of money I do in a year but I have more money saved then he does.

@carebear29 I used to do eBay and did really well but the shipping costs went up a lot and I quit doing it. I got sick of it. I have stuff piling up in the closest that I need to get listed but when I have time I'm alway so tired so don't want to do it.

Like you said once you move things will be better. You are under so much stress and that you could not move on time does not help. I am sorry things are not going smoothly and you still have to stay where you are.

It's tough for you when you have such good intentions. His actions are immature and selfish. Yes I will pray that he sees the light with managing his money.

So sorry to hear about your husband's foolish choice. I hope both of you will soon settle into better workable financial arrangement and into a fresh start.

It would be better to settle all outstanding issues with your landlord before moving out. I hope your new home will be less stressful but maybe it's your husband with his inability to handle money that is causing it?

your husband should know the difference between "needs and wants". I hope you get to move soon so things will be less stressful on your part.

Maybe try to work with him to get him to contribute a small amount (at least $20-$30 monthly or more) in a savings box for emergencies. You monitor that box and kept it hidden. He can spend whatever he wants as long he contributes a small amount in that box and sooner or later it adds up and you have leftover money to pay whatever bills you have.
