Is $20 to much from the tooth fairy?

Recently, a person posted to Facebook that their child had lost a tooth. The tooth fairy gave her 2 stuffed animals, 1 candy bar, and $20. I was SHOCKED! $20! That seems really outrageous to me for a tooth. I give my daughter anywhere from 50 cents to $1. They've never complained or asked for more. They always have a smile on their face and say, "I'm a dollar richer!" And put it in their bank. Is it just me thinking $20 is too much to be giving for a tooth or an I stuck in the stone age?

I think that I would not give more than a maximum of $2. This is too much.

I made a post here about my niece losing her tooth and she got $20 from the tooth fairy. It wasn't a lot of money for us.

@WendySpickerman I think it's because less than $20 isn't worth that much to us anymore.

So even more people give that much? Why is that? Is there a lesson you have them learn which promotes such an amount being worth paying? Wonder what Easter, Birthdays and Christmas is like.

That's a lot of money for one tooth. I wonder what kind of tooth it was.
