Butchered

Apparently, this is considered a first world problem to some people, but I cannot help but be so pissed off and upset and devastated. My mom and I live together, we have lived in the same house for 21 years, that is my age minus one year. So this is the only place I know. We don't have a lot of money, this house is old and falling apart and we do not have the funds to fix everything, just one thing at a time and even then some things are too far gone. But there was one thing that always made me happy about my home. Something that everyone knew was an identifier. It was our big tree in our front yard. I have seen this tree every single day of my life, I used to play under it, even took naps and got bit by a bunch of ants. Later on I would sit under it, still got bit by ants, and write under it. I love this tree. My landlord, the cheap idiot he is, decided to hire people to give it a trim. Okay, that is fine, he does that once a year, cool, we do not have to pay for it, that is fine! But, every single time he hires whatever cheap company he can find and they ruin our tree. Last year they just chopped one side and left, didn't even it out. this year...my god, this year, my mom and I are in tears with the butchering they have done to our tree. Apparently, these fools don't know the difference between trim and cut! My grandma (who lives next door) comes out and yells at them going "did he tell you to trim or cut the tree?" And they replied with, "He told us to cut it down because it was a weak tree" My hiney that was a "weak tree" NO! That tree was beautiful, strong, Flourished amazingly! If my grandma did not go out there they would have completely cut this tree down! My grandma then texted our landlord and asked if he said to cut it down or trim and he replied with Just a trim. I am pretty sure he is so ticked off and has fired them. I just hope he didn't pay them. Ugh, our poor tree, cheap labor is never good. I just hope our tree grows back before we get a cold snap so it can survive.

I know what your feeling, my dad cut down a bottle brush tree that my grandfather planted way before i was born, i felt sad but my younger brother gave him a massive guilt trip.

If the tree is not harmful to the environment, just don't cut it down. I wish more people realized that

I feel your pain. When I first moved to Ohio from NJ, my brother and I lived in a 3-family home. We lived on the 2nd floor. There was a magnolia tree outside of our window that gave off a good breeze. One time during our 4-year stay, our stupid landlord took down the tree for no reason. My mother was devastated. It was a healthy tree. I hope you'll get the tree back, cause we never did before we moved to a condo in another town.

Goodness sakes, that landlord was cruel. Our landlord is a greedy idiot but he wouldn't want that tree to go

This tree was almost completely shaved, so it will take a while for it all to grow back

They need to be sure of what they are sent there to do it sounds like. Confusion can cause problems. Idiots! I had a big tree out in the front yard at the place where used to live before we moved in here. I love to set out under in the heat of the summer. Nice spot. Now I have the one out in the back to look out on. I live in the north end of the city and it is full of trees. Love them.

There are not that many trees around here because I live close to the city, so seeing a tree be mutilated like that is just so depressing

I think it was very rude they trimmed your favorite tree. I still don't get it though why they had to do it. People might not have a lot, economically speaking, but having your dears one next to you I find it a great thing as well.

Trimming is fine so the tree can stay healthy, but this was being prepped to be cut down, thankfully it was stopped before hand.

the last tree we had had to be cut down last year for many reasons. everyone was surprised and saddened. there are also many weird, awkward shaped trees here in our neighborhood because they were trimmed to avoid cables.

I think as long as the trees are not a hazard, they shouldn't be cut down. Especially without permission of the owner.

Sorry to hear about your tree, hopefully it grows back. Trees are great for the environment and they can hold plenty of memories, some trees are so old they can actually tell history. It was like erasing history, and that's no good.

What a shame she did not text immediately and block those idiots before they did such a butchering. If the tree is healthy, it will come back, do not worry.

Oh, I'm so sorry! That would upset me too. Trees are very special, especially ones you have a connection to the way you do. I hope it's able to grow back and thrive, and that the landlord didn't pay those idiots!
