Whatsapp has become so much a part of our live nowadays that many of us keep checking the app for messages many times a day. My office too uses the app so send messages so I have to keep checking for any messages from my boss and colleagues. The main reason why this app is so populat is because it uses the internet to send text messages, images, video, user location and audio media messages from one smart phone to another instantly. So everyone has started using whattsas send messages, images, videos etc to friends or to any other easily. I think just as at one time we had pen friends to whom we would send letters regularly and whom we never met now will come a time when we would have whatsapp friends. Would you like to make friends like this with unknown people and chat on whatsapp regularly ? Pic courtesy: Google images.

It is very important to me since I easily talk to my family when I’m outside the country.

Yes it has become a very important part for keeping in touch with our family. I have family who are now settled in different countries and we keep in touch everyday through whatsapp.

@aureliah Yes I agree with you. And time difference does not matter as you can answer whenever you see the messages.

Very few people do not use smart phones these days. Am sure you have a reason for that.

I just started to use a smart phone last year, and before that, my friends always asked me to get on WhatsApp. I do use WhatsApp to chat with some friends, but I don't use it frequently as I can't find much time to chat with three kids around me all the time and piles of work to do at home. I like that it's free and we also get to know if a friend has read our message. I would be happy to chat with someone on WhatsApp if I have more free time. I used to write to penpal when I was young.

I had a lot of penpal friends as a kid. Met a few of them over the years. And lost touch with all of them as I grew. I need to check whatsapp even in office while working to be in touch with team mates. So check messages from friends too then. And since we use it for official work too the boss does not know what exactly we are doing on the mobile so he cannot stop us from using mobile and whatsapp in office hours!!!
