LAUGHING SPOUSE

Can there be too much laughter in a home? According to one housewife the answer is yes - especially when the laughter is coming from the husband - not the children. This lady I know, married for 12 years says she loves her husband very much, but his sense of humor is a bit too much. She is even afraid to go to the cinema with him - because his laughter continues after others have stopped. Her other concern is that their three children won't take him seriously. When looking for a partner one of the criteria I hear mentioned quite often is - he or she must have a great sense of humor. Do you think this husband has too much , or is he simply being silly? Would you prefer a spouse who laughs a lot - or one who is quiet and morose?

I like someone with sense of humor, but I would have someone who is silly. This man looks a bit silly to me.

Definitely laughter. That is one of the reason that I love my fiance so much. We laugh so much. No man has ever made me laugh the way he does.

Genuine laughter promotes happy feelings. I am just wondering if the lady wasn't aware of his personality before they got married.

@Kandae11 i am sure that she was. They say often the thing you love the most about them when you are dating is the thing that will annoy you the most the longer you are married.

I would prefer a spouse who laughs but not one that is a laughing hyena.

Well, since I'm a humorous nut-case, a spouse would have to be funny too @Kandae11 but I would hope in public he wouldn't be too nutty.

I prefer someone who is Fun loving when things call for it, but can be more serious when need be as well. Lucky for me, I am married to one who is that way and not someone who laughs at everything to where I would feel embarrased all of the time.

Same is with me as my sense of humour is too much that even my kids sometimes don't take me seriously and wife often complains for this. But it's my nature I can't change it.

I prefer laughter! There has not been a day in my marriage that my husband has not made me laugh. When I laugh, he laughs, and that's just one of the many things I love that about him.

It sounds like he has a terrific sense of humor. I don't think she should worry about her children taking him seriously. I'm sure when it comes to taking care of them, he does just fine and they know when he's serious. I would prefer a man with a good sense of humor. Quiet is good too, but not morose.

I am curious now about that guy. Having a good sense of humour is a good thing, but too much of anything is never good. From what you said there, I have a suspicion the husband in the case has begun to irritate the wife with his humour. A bad sign. (Perhaps he had a habit of laughing at his wife and the children at moments when he shouldn't? Bad trait if that was the case. I have heard of similar cases. They all broke up eventually.)

He sounds a bit silly, laughter is a good thing, but some are naturally high all of the time. He must take funny pills. Some are just tickled pink about everything. Was like that early on. Hopefully he will mature as time goes by. He just seems very very very happy.
