Setting a Goal! Meeting the Goal!

Earlier this week I share a corner of the mystery quilt I was assembling. Life was conspiring against me all week, but I have been determined that the quilt front would be assembled before the week was through. This morning early it was done...then it was pressed....and I took it outside....brrrr....to take a photograph of the assembled top. The temperature of -22C made me work quickly. The windchill of -30C made it hard to get a photo that I found acceptable. You can see the results. Determination is a good thing.

Thank you. I'm quite happy with the result to this point. Now I need to find a backing fabric and then get it quilted. It's one of many that are waiting in queue for me to get to them.

@peachpurple I've been giving a woman lessons for several months. Yesterday we began to assemble her quilt top. She is very pleased.

@Morleyhunt I also do like doing the same way, too. A good reflection of what we've done for the day.

@jstory07 thank you. When I started to assemble it I had my reservations. I thought it might be a little too busy and chaotic...but as I added rows I began to rally like it. Hanging on my clothesline this morning, I love it!

@Morleyhunt It rains from two days here, so it would have not been an option. The temperature is not too bad here, 8 degrees Celsius.

Trying to get photos of the quilts inside is difficult. They take up a lot of space (imagine?) and then getting the lighting and a clear photo becomes an even bigger challenge. Outside....in the snow....I have an easier time. I laid it out first and then decided to hang it from the clothesline.

Once I set a goal I usually try to see it through. I've learned though to work towards my goals in smaller steps so I'm not getting discouraged.

I like to finish things. Now if I could only get my UFO (unfinished objects) pile to shrink, I'd be blissfully happy.

The house at least is warm. The cold is the perfect excuse to stay inside and sew.

Your quilt is stunning! At first, I didn't see the clothes line and it looked like the quilt was floating in air!

That would have been a trick. I'm not that talented. The wind made it a challenge to get a decent photo.

Thank you. This is the third time I've done a mystery quilt. I think this one is in the running for a favourite. I've liked all of them when the top has been assembled.

Just this weekend I read. Aim for the sun.....you will achieve much more than if you aim for something at your own level....even if you don't achieve the sun.
