It Sure Seems Quiet around Here Today

My Nephew Peeling an Egg for Breakfast

Now that my nephew is gone the house seems really empty (of people, not clutter.) I really looked forward to all our evening chats. After such an intense time away from my normal activities it's hard to get back into normal routines. Today I actually got a blog post written and tried to catch up on some of my networking. I looked at the finances and am so not wanting to have to think about paying all the bills and scheduling them to be paid online. The really fun part is figuring out where the money to pay them will come from. I'm learning to juggle -- bills that is. How do you get back into your normal routines after a break caused by illness, vacation, holidays, or house guests?

I am an organized person. I tried to maintain my old self in paying bills. I can't afford to neglect it.

I can't afford it, either. I was late paying one and got hit with a late fee.

Between Christmas, babysitting, house guests and frigid temperatures....my routine has been totally thrown out. I'm hoping that this week we can start anew and try again for routine....wish me luck.

I wish you luck and determination in getting back on schedule. I'm letting myself have a Sabbath rest today, but tonight I have to get started on the finances.

@bagarad with a long distance move in the future...I don't see myself sticking to a real schedule for months. That doesn't mean I won't try.

@Morleyhunt I imagine that with such a move ahead, you've got plenty of things to do that aren't part of your normal routine that will be keeping you busy.

I'm glad that you were able to enjoy his visit. It can definitely be hard to get back into our normal routines.

I was almost sure I'd have nothing to give as late as the morning of his arrival day. I guess it was important to God that we had a chance to have those long conversations, so he gave me enough strength to do what needed to be done. My cold seems to be returning today.

I used to have problem getting back to my normal routine after a vacation. But last week, I have decided to just get out of bed and head out to the office and work on something. I felt good at that time.

@bagarad I can choose not to go to the office but I'd rather go there and be around people than just stay at home.

I work in a home office, so it takes discipline to start working again that it doesn't take to just go back to the job site.

@toniganzon I rather like being home. When I was younger I enjoyed being out more.

I pay the ones I'm used to paying, but since my husband's accident and illnesses I've taken on paying the ones he usually pays by mail that are on a different schedule. It's double the work.

Things are still uncertain here, with a few bills which I need to settle. I plan to declutter things in the shed too. Let see if I could do it.

@YrNemo I need to give away more stuff. It would be nice to get something for it, but I really just want my rooms back.

When I was single I keep a board with my priority things and targets to help me be reminded in reaching it but now that I`m married I have it in my diary and make sure that everything will be done normally

@bagarad There are forums where you can be comfortable. Just subscribe to them and create discussions and also respond. I take care to select those forums who I know will not rate me low. It is the ratings that one should worry about and not the responses or comments one receives. Those can be ignored.

I gave up on PostLoop. Haven't been there in a year or two. I was tired of constantly being put down by those there just to advocate things like atheism. I don't mind defending my faith and answering questions for and from those who are truly searching, but I don't see the point of just arguing with people who will never change their minds. I don't need the pennies that much. The gardening forums I enjoyed were always going offline about the time I had time to get my two cents worth in.

I guess we get used to relaxing or doing what we please and it's hard to get disciplined again.

I usually do, but all that's happened has made it much harder. We really need to tie up some loose ends that would make it easier for either of us to handle what the other one usually does.

I also welcome the return of normalcy, but the transition period is still hard for me.
