Right before dark I got a phone call, although I don`t remember the number I do know it when I see it. Tony was calling telling me he got another deer and I need to help him clean it.I don`t really do nothing but wash it off, bag t and freeze it. I was thankful that he gave his elder half of it. Tony was very happy that he got more meat for himself and his elder that can no longer hunt due to being to old. Its hard on Tony but the doctors want him to get back to living his life and doing what he wants to do. He wants to hunt for his food, so be it. Anyone ever had to kill and clean their old food?

Good job for him! Also great that he can share it. Does killing and cleaning fish count? Haha I have helped tan a hide before.

The guts, head and hide goes back to nature, the wild animals gets those. My dogs get the feet and the heart. The liver is sliced and shared with others. Yes fish counts. And I have not ever tanned a hide before.

@andriaperry that is good nothing goes to waste! When I went to church camp I was like the queen of fishing, no one else was getting bites but me haha and then I was taught how to clean them and did enough to feed half the camp

Yup, its not legal here, so no chance of it. So you need license for the same, so you have to pay for it?

This is allowed in USA, in India this hunting will land person behind the bars; it is illegal to hunt wild animals.

@andriaperry Hmmm, yet there is no reason to make it legal in India as it is against wildlife.

@andriaperry Yes but meat attached to an animal. I can wash meat from the butcher but no way I am cutting it off anything with a head. You are a renaissance woman, you can do so many things. You make jam, run your own business and take care of someone, come on, you are amazing.

Ick I could not kill an animal or clean it up after. Being a vegetarian I do not like cooking meat but my son loves it so I have to. Glad Tony is doing what he likes!

Most years, we end up with a deer skinned and hanging in the middle of our garage. Jay has never shot one, but others who get two or three, give him one for the freezer.

I did not realize until recently that the live crabs are thrown into boiling water before preparing them for cooking. I think that is awful. Thankfully I am not a fan of crab meat.

@andriaperry Actually that wont happen because I am complete vegetarian It was not that I never use to eat non veg but the day I visited the meat shop things completely changed and now being more into spiritualism the urge itself went away for good.

I was practically born and raised hunting and fishing out in the woods, although I haven't been hunting in years! Probably up until about the end of my 20s my dad and I would do a lot of hunting, so yes, I've killed and cleaned my own food. I might get back into it again soon, as my teenage son has been expressing an interest in going hunting.

I think its good for people to learn to provide their own food. Hunting, fishing or growing. Never know when those skills will come in handy for a survival reason.
