Hidden Garden is one of the famous tourist destination in my province, Ilocos Sur. It is located in one of the village in Vigan city. You have to travel for about 10 minutes before reaching the place-- I presumed this is the reason why it's hidden. The place home of different kinds of ornamental and flower bearing plants. You can also find lots of bonsai. Some of the plants are for sale and some are our eyes only. It is owned by a private individual which just turned as tourist destination because it is relaxing and inspiring to be in this place. There's a restaurant inside the garden serving only ilocano cuisine. Me and my wife Lisa and our youngest child Lian had a good time being here.

Hidden Garden sounds like a lovely place to visit. What else can be found there aside from plants and beautiful flowers?

Maybe this is the good reason for you to visit Ilocos. They are all vegetable dish except the bagnet which is a big chunk of deep fried pork meat.

@ilocosboy Our next destination is Palawan. I will suggest going North. Maybe in the future we will consider Ilocos. Ilocos is farther than Baguio?

Yes, if you have heard Vigan and Pagudpud, that's Ilocos though from different provinces.

Do tell us more about the person who owns this place. Is he/she young/old and presumably wealthy enough? Why did he/she create this garden? (for some loved ones?)

Based from the photos I saw in the garden the owner is already old, maybe at 50s, maybe its just a hobby but when more and more people came, it became a tourist dextination of the city.

@ilocosboy I hope he gets something out of that for all his trouble. (Anyone pays him an entrance fee? Hope he sets up some sort of public toilets for visitors? )

No entrance and there are well maintained comfort rooms, he earn through rentals of small business, a restaurant and selling some of the plants.

@ilocosboy We haven't also experienced the food though I know Longganisa is very delicious. I hope I could return to Pagudpod soon. It's one of my favorite beaches on the north.
