Not the best of days on the crypto market

Not the best of days on the crypto market Over the last few days what little coin I have, I’ve seen them going up and up in value, then today a sudden turn in the market as you can see in the screenshot of my portfolio. Today all my coin have gone down in value. I guess today is like the saying “what goes up must come down”. I guess maybe tomorrow things will be different and I will see an uplift in my value. I don’t have much in the way of coins, seeing that I’ve never bought any myself, only what I’ve earned online, so no real risk. I'm slowly building, adding to my coins and so has the value, which is good. All said and done, seeing I’ve never bought any, they are doing well even with days like today and tomorrow is a different day. Do you own and cryptocurrency?

Is that about bitcoins? I don't seem to understand it. I feel they are slow earners

@averygirl72 No, not yet, I'm in for the long term of things, hoping that they with continue to go up in value. At one point I almost cashout my Bitcoin, but held off.

No, it's not real money until you cash it out into your bank account, then it becomes real money. There are many places were you can by items with you bitcoin, ever coffee.

It's digital currency, not physical money. There's a lot of speculation surrounding it, which is why the prices are (generally) trending upwards. People are buying into it because they're seeing an opportunity to resell it for more later. I saw a blogger call it basically a digital version of Beanie Babies the other day, which is kind of hysterically true. Some of the supporters argue that it'll always be worth the value it took to mine it at a minimum, but really it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Considering how extortionate the fees for transactions tend to be these days, it's not really a practical thing to send money like PayPal. Last time I checked it would have been over $17 to send any amount of Bitcoin. The sender typically pays the fees; higher fees mean that the transaction will be confirmed sooner, which means it goes through sooner. Anyway, there are a good number of merchants that take it. I actually got into collecting Bitcoin several years ago when I saw that Overstock.com accepted it as a payment method.

I have a handful of different cryptocurrencies, too, but I wussed out and sold off most of my Bitcoin last month when it really started dropping. I don't really regret it... I used the proceeds to buy myself a KitchenAid stand mixer, which I've been wanting for ages! I'd been focusing on mining and collecting Litecoin, but just switched to Doge a few days ago. The value is so much lower than other coins so the faucets pay larger amounts. I'm not sure if I'm going to hold them or exchange for something that's more in demand like Bitcoin... I use Coinpot for everything they offer through the faucets and it makes it really easy to do it, but Bitcoin has a pretty high withdrawal threshold to avoid fees on there.

Same here I use Coinpot and Faucethub, I converted a lot of my Litecoin into Doge in Coinpot when Doge was at 0.0047 or thereabouts but now have started to collect Litecoin again. I have 0.015 Bitcoin and I can't see myself getting much more than that because like you have said, fees are too high at the moment, but I'm in the for long-term and things may change. Glad you were able to get some nice things with your Bitcoin YAY, I almost cashed out my Bitcoin when Bitcoin hit 20K but didn't. I hope that Doge continues it climb in value even if it only gets to maybe a dollar, that would be amazing. All the best with all your coins

I've already converted most of my BTC, I have about $15 left. I would just be happy if BTC remained in the ten thousands, I don't aim for more. I should also have some LTC but haven't checked my wallet for a while.

What did you convert you BTC too? I think BTC will climb again and will go over to what it was, but for now, it seems BTC is slowly falling, down below 15K this morning.

I'm sure with time prices will go up but with being low you get more on the Faucets which is always good.

@thislittlepennyearns True it could do that, but over time I'm sure they will go back up.

No, I do not own any cryptocurrency. Everything that goes up too fast, comes down very fast. It has always been the case in the stock market.

I have watched a few YouTubes about Bitcoins and such. Many think they will be over taken by something new on the horizon, called Fedcoin. To gain control over people's bitcoin collections.

Bitcoin is the main one for now, but anything could happen that is for sure.
