First time home this year

After almost 3 weeks of being in New Jersey visiting my kids, grandson and friends for the Christmas Holidays, we are finally home. I do have to say it is always nice to go away and we love planning our vacations but this year was a little to long.
It took us longer to get home as both my husband and I are sick. We assume we caught what my grandson had but my daughter was smart and took him to the emergency room to have him looked at and after some prescriptions, he is doing better but my husband and I are not.
We drove for two days to get home and it seemed like a week. We usually stop in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, go out for dinner and back to the hotel to sleep. This time we never went out to eat as I was so sick I couldn't even walk straight. I feel asleep the minute we got in the hotel room.
The next day seemed like a week long ride. I think we might be getting a little to old for running around like we do.
I am happy to be home and in my own bed. What a way to start off the new year.

So sorry that you are sick, I hope it goes away quickly. We finally made it down here the weather was pretty exciting. What day did you go by Savannah? We changed our route to avoid it.

@ramapo17 Savannah is right off 95 so you did go through the area that we avoided. It must have cleared up.

@BelleStarr We didn't see any problems in Georgia. I never knew we were that close to Savannah. I learn something new everyday, even at this age.

Praying for you and your husband. Being sick is never Fun, especially when you are traveling and come home sick. I went to Atlanta a few yrs back with Pneumonia, all because there was no way I could cancel my flight, hotel room, etc last minute.

@KrauseHome I can't believe we have been sick since the 1st of January. It was so cold in New Jersey and we didn't have enough warm clothes plus the house we were in was so cold. It is a very tall A frame and all the heat rises. I didn't want to keep putting the heat up as I didn't know how much oil was in the tank, etc. I learned my lesson about going up there during that time of the year. Last year we were there the same time but it wasn't cold out.

Well, home sweet home should help make things better. At least you will be back in the sunshine and out of the cold.
