Last night was beans and sausage night at our house. We used canned lima beans because when we went to Winn Dixie over the weekend they did not have navy beans either in the bag or can which is what we usually use. I got the sausage at work which was $1.00. No tax on food here. So the break down is John Morel smoked sausage $1 Two cans of lima beans $1.60 Seasonings etc $0.40 Total for dinner $3. And it fed both of us. Tonight's chicken and potatoes! Which I'm looking forward to as well. What did you have for dinner last night?

That’s a great cheap meal. We had Cioppino with shrimp over linguine. I had a bottle of Mario Batali Cioppino sauce in the cabinet, a lb of dry linguine, and a 1lb bag of Red Argentinian Shrimp in the freezer. Fast and easy.

@thislittlepennyearns it is a red sauce for a fish stew. It isn’t really supposed to be served over pasta but I just made it that way bc I felt like having pasta. It was supposed to be more like fish/shellfish stew/soup and served with crusty bread.

What exactly is cioppino sauce? We eat a lot of pasta, so I'm always on the lookout for new sauces.

We had beef short ribs, green beans and baked potatoes with sour cream. We love sausage and beans around here. Sometimes it's just wienies and baked beans. I bought a huge package of chicken thighs, so we have lots of those around. I don't know what to have tonight. Maybe the rest of the leftover spaghetti.

That's $1.50 per plate. You gotta get down to less than a buck per Coral style.

Maybe tomorrow. Tonight will be a little more expensive than last night. But I didn't feel like actually cooking last night.
