Motivated to post: where would you go hang out?

I was having a hard time thinking of something interesting to post. It does not really have to interest you, but it has to interest me enough to write something. This discussion by @Corbin5 shook my brain a little Let's just say, You are a duck. You are a damaged duck, your bill is deformed. That makes you the target of waterfowl bullies, like other ducks, and geese, etc. Where would you go hang out to be safe? Your bill may heal if they quit picking on you and let you recuperate. The city pool is a great place to hang out. You can swim up and down the "lazy river" feature. No dogs or cats to attack you. A "river bank" of landscaping to nestle in. Lots of guests at the snack bar to share extra goodies. One summer when I worked with the adult disabled I met this duck. She was pretty friendly. She had a damaged bill. One of my clients was scared of water birds, like ducks, but she meant no one any harm. Sometimes our city scapes become wildlife refuges for the local birds and animals.
We have plenty of ducks and geese that frequent the many parks in our area. I suppose that some folks may suffer from Anatidaephobia, however, I do...

Funny - I think of myself as an odd duck. I would find a few safe animal friends and concentrate on my time with them. People who might find my differences not annoying and possibly even appealing. Perhaps I'd seek a farm run by folks who gave homes to "damaged" animals and kept a nice pond for my friends and I.

There are quite a few refuge type farms out there. You made a good choice.

usually, yes. often its to prey on the weakest member. that is why some mother animals eat/kill their young.

Yes, @Daeli is right. Part of the reason the weakest are picked on is that when one member is weak it weakens the entire group and makes them vulnerable.

I think towns that have good parks are very forward thinking.
