It is still Christmas at my house

I usually keep my decorations up until February 2 so that I can enjoy the holidays longer. I found a cute decoration for my door with a large pine cone on it, it cost me 30 cents. When we bought this house it came with a ceramic Christmas tree and I have never used it before but Sunday night I put the tree on the pass-through between my kitchen and dining room and turned it on. It is so cute. I love being able to keep the holiday going.

@BelleStarr The wreath never moved. I thought maybe its feet would carry it to a closet but nope. Still there.

I'm afraid I'm one of those that pack up after Christmas. I am always keen to get started on the new year.

I dislike the entire month of January, but I can imagine it is much different since it is summer, here it is ugly and cold and gray and I need my decorations lol

@Gillygirl We'll have quite a few days around that over summer. We tend to get up early and do what we have to do before the heat sets in. That's another good thing about being retired.

This is a very nice tree, I remove all the decorations the day after Epiphany, that means the 7th of January.

That is cute. I don't take my tree down either until the end of January or early February. Though I do have the lights turned off now. The prelit are dying so the tree will get tossed when I do take all the decorations off it.

Why February 2nd? Does that day hold a special meaning. I still have my tree up and will keep it probably until winter is over. But it's artificial and small so doesn't take up much room or make a mess.

February 2 is the feast of the Presentation when Jesus was presented in the temple. It is also called Candlemas and is the last day of the liturgical Christmas season.
