Mylot is the factory floor of internet writing but I'm still here so what the hell!

So I have been on mylot for one month now and earned the grand total of $6.00! I try to write at least 500 words in my pieces and make them interesting. I’m not going to do what many people do here and write the minimal amount of words for the maximum amount of money, which is very little in both cases. It’s just too banal to get into the ‘make the most money you can’ mentality here of rating and commenting all day long. I will do my fair share and ‘Like’ 50 comments and questions one day and 25 the next. I certainly will APOLOGISE to you guys for thinking this place was more than the sum of its parts. It’s clearly not a review site and here simply for people to doddle and comment on their day, however trivial. Again I apologise if I didn’t understand that. The ‘Offers’ section has been a bit hit and miss for me and I have deleted that down to 7 , mostly survey site links remaining. These ‘WIN AN IPOD’ links and the like are clearly spam and virus generators and so ones to ignore. Nobody s going to win anything but annoying marketing calls from utility companies. Some of them contain Bitcoin mining bugs that can slow down your system. I picked one up in pursuit of my $1000 dollar Amazon card. You don’t get paid the promised rewards for following the link anyway and dragged through all manner of hoops and more and more questions to generate yet more spam, a distraction to give a the virus enough time to burrow into your hard-drive. I will say the Opinion Post survey site link has proved very lucrative and I have made $15 bucks in one week! You can earn PayPal and Amazon vouchers there. Met some nice people here and a few sexy ones, which I enjoy messaging. I am online savvy enough to know they may not be who they say they are and won’t be flying any day soon to meet a lady boy in the Philippines. A nice Nigerian man offered me a slice of $15 million dollars to help his brother the prince of Lagos to ship their fortune out but I had to decline.

I am glad you understood how the site works. For some users this is the only way to communicate with other people. Those who are alone, those who live in nursery houses. They can only share their daily life and they are happy to have an exchange with someone they "virtually" know from years.

I think some people may have the impression that it is an article site.

Such is life online. I like it. Some don´t. I´m not in pursuit of an old BF past 65 years of age nor do I wish to send some money to bring from Nigeria a legacy that someone left me. Welcome to the world

I never even look at the offers. Don't have time. I never qualify for the surveys, but they never tell me that at the beginning. I enjoy the conversations, but that's because I've gotten to know people here and consider them friends.

I had seen at least one of your previous posts and was not sure you would stick around, since this is not a "serious writing site" but only a place for banal discussions. I would not waste my time on the offers section. It has not been good for years. I have done some on genuine offers sites and they are still dissatisfactory. I do not need that garbage here.

Oh, this is purely for fun, and it doesn't take long to realize skill doesn't have to be involved. I never look at the offers anymore because they tend to be nonsense. I do love Opinion Post as I have been a member for years, very happily. I met up with a lovely lady whom I have engaged with on Mylot. She and her husband were delightful. I have also made a friend so loyal she has sent me money, unasked, in hard times. There are good, solid people who write. But their lives are too busy or just not compatible with "real" writing. And that's okay for me.

IF you are here to make money, I think you have learned that is not the site to do it. Most us are here for the social interaction and the chance to monetize it, is a nice side benefit.

You certainly are an interesting writer! Though I don't understand why you refused a chunk of $15 million?

Mylot is just for having fun with online friends and earn a bit. I have not tried Offers here. I don´t have time for that.

Good that you don't have time for the "offers". You will just end up giving your personal info, get bombarded with spam, and won't even get credited what the offer supposedly pays. And this is based on what I heard from other mylotters.

@lovebuglena yes, that is the reason why I didn't do the offers. When my personal data is asked, I passed.

Mylot has its own charm that makes members want to stay- or if they leave they usually drift back.

You never know, after joining mylot for a while, you might just gather enough materials (and found enough actors and actresses) for your future movies. Who knows, you may even end up write famous novels and become more famous than Lee Child! (That is funny, being offered some share in that Nigeria project!)

@thedevilinme I read a bad review re: Tom Cruise as Jack in the first one. The reviewer said, 'Tom Cruise is all wrong re: his height!' Does it mean that the 2nd one is not too good? Do write a review about it please.

You can write whatever you want here as long as it follows the rules and someone will read it. I enjoy the interaction here and since we aren't really doing a job I'm fine with the pennies they throw at us like JJ says. This site isn't for everyone but I love it!

For me, if you have noticed the guidelines of this site, you will perfectly understand that everyone has given an equal opportunity to earn, to express their freedom to vent, to be heard or to be known by others and to learn. Appreciation of mylot depends on your needs and for me, it should be given an equal respect. Make the most money you can’ mentality? Why not? If a person needs a money for living, I don’t see anything wrong with that as long as you’re not doing it at the expense of others. That kind of mentally do exist now a days , in any business ventures, in picking a job and a lot more. But , I respect your opinion.

I wonder why mylot even has offers, especially those that turn out to be scam, bombard you with marketing emails, and don't even credit you the pennies they should credit you for taking part in their offer... I see nothing wrong with writing lengthy posts, though people here seem to prefer short ones. I don't mind lengthy posts, and have done those as well though never counted the word count, as long as they are interesting to me.

Well described. Though I am here for nearly two years I don't know some parts of the site. Some I have avoided like plague. 6 $ in a month in my opinion is good work. I'd love to have that success.

I make sure I enjoy my time here and I know that may not bring in much rewards in terms of money. I am not on surveys and thanks for sharing how you made a neat amount though Opinion Post survey. I have to find out about that. With so much of fly by night sites, I am happy here as it is a survivor with good administration. Been here for over two years and know most who are active and I try to follow and comment on those posts that interest me - siva
