Only penny candy i got was hershey kisses, reeses, m&ms. And gum.
But my favorite candy as a kid is the same as now, 3musketeers. And the bandaid bubblegum and bubble jug.

@MsBooklover lol. Lollipops are candies too and I guess its not wrong for adults to eat candies whether it could be on a plastic stick or not.

Yes, when ever I bought penny candy it was the Atomic red hots..those cinammon hot balls. I still like them honestly..I am sure they are hard on your teeth though.
