Just finished lunch and one of the food in the table is the seaweed we call pukpuklo. It is stringy green seaweed in the family of codiums and is commonly found in the seashore of our place. It should be only washed with water so the grains of sands are removed. It can be eater as it is or you can sliced some tomatoes or pinch lemon or calamansi. Its a favorite seaweed and not so pricey unlike other kinds of seaweed. It is rich in iron and other vitamin and minerals. Well, it is a good food for me.

They might have sold that at Asian stores here (Japanese or Korean stuff, I don't know which is which). US$ 10 per kilo or something similar. The seaweeds are pre-flavored and mixed with sesame seeds. Someone introduced this dish to me, but I never knew (until reading your post) that they come in that form in nature. I thought they had to slice them thinly.

The seaweeds are like that. We usually have them fresh with just tomatoes and nothing more.

We can get seaweed at the market here in Latvia but it is better to eat sometimes in ready-made salads.

We eat some seaweeds in my country although the last generation is not so fond of them. They have changed the good old food for fast food and there is now a problem of obesity here.

Started eating seaweed when grams got a sample at Costcos. They are like wafers. Been chowing on them ever since. Developed a craving for Seaweed!
