I had a late lunch today, due to work, and am deciding what to have for dinner. A couple of (work) nights ago, I had Trader Joe's Kun Pao Chicken, with rice brought to me by a Filipino friend, garlic I had on hand, and peppers from a friend's garden, thrown in. It was delicious. Tonight...eh....I invite suggestions.

@Marty1 Usually my biggest meal is lunch. And instead of dinner I have coffee with something light. If I have a party or if I am invited out at dinner, I eat a very light lunch.

My Filipino friend brought a bunch of rice. It was very buttery. I kept it and added it to my Chinese food.

I was suddenly craving for egg noodles so we went to this place called Wok'd and I ordered Mongolian Beef Hokkien noodles. Wasn't too bad but I thought the sauce was too overpowering. Will know not to order it anymore.

@TheHorse I probably can but I would rather try out the other stuff they have on the menu. I might find one that suits me. The place looks packed all the time, I'd feel guilty making all that fuss. But again, I'ma very timid person. I suffer in silence.

One of the popular food in China, 'Kung Pao Chicken.' It is nice that a Filipino friend nailed in cooking it. I also love to eat this meal in a Chinese restaurant.

Impossible to give suggestions not knowing what you usually keep in your kitchen cabinets and refrigerator. Last evening I prepared a Pad Thai for dinner.

@thehorse I started with duck pâté, Melba toast and pickles, followed by pumpkin ravioli, all helped along with a glass or three of quite acceptable Malbec. Chef worked wonders tonight.

It was really good. I may have taken the picture before I added the reddish sauce that comes from Trader Joe's. The sauce masks the color contrasts.

so, a day late, well, several actually... We made a dish we call "Ziti". Now, because I'm allergic to beef, we used ground turkey. It also calls for ziti noodles, but we use elbow macaroni. Add to that, we use 8 oz of both cheeses and more like 2 cups of sour cream, and I have no idea how much Parmesan cheese, we just give the top a good sprinkle. We also add mushrooms, just because we like them. It freezes good, and makes a ton of leftovers. It might be a bit much for just you, but if you are going to a dinner, or having a dinner with guests, you might want to consider making this. It is not gluten free, but could be made that way with gluten free noodles, but also not for people who can't handle dairy or nightshades. In fact, our friend who is allergic to nightshades came over while we were starting to fix this, and we stopped until after she left, just because even the smell of tomatoes or potatoes can cause her problems, just like the smell of popcorn can give me problems. So, that's my suggestion for a dinner... YUM!
Spaghetti sauce and three kinds of Italian cheeses make a surprisingly quick and budget-friendly baked ziti that's perfect for a weeknight meal.

I had lunch for dinner. I went to Chuy’s for lunch, got half an order of quesadillas, and brought half of that home. That, and tomato basil soup, was the dinner fare.

Do you like chinese food. Maybe you could have that or have another idea something very simple to fix yourself. Do you have salami, hot dogs and an onion and red pepper. You could fry them all together and have a nice meal and make a salad if you want to go with it.
