This refers to one of my favorite songs by The Hollies, who were one of the successful pop and rock acts of the British Invasion. The began recording in 1963, developing a specific style of their very own. They were greatly influenced by the music by The Everly Brothers. Two members of the band Allan Clarke (lead singer) and Graham Nash (vocals, guitar) were childhood friends from Manchester, England. The group first began playing in the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. In the mid-1960s they had hits like “Here I Go Again”, “We’re Through” and “I’m Alive”. They became known in the U.S. with hits like “Bus Stop”, “On a Carousel”, “Carrie Ann” and “Stop Stop Stop”. The group's peak years came slowly to an end in 1968 when Graham Nash left for the U.S. to join in founding Crosby, Stills & Nash. One of The Hollies biggest international singles became “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”. They entered the 1970s with the hit “Long Cool Woman In a Black Dress” and finally in mid-1973 they rose up to number six on the pop charts in the U.S. with “The Air That I Breathe”. However, their success seemed to have reached a dead end by the early 1980s. Interest renewed in 1983 when Graham Nash rejoined The Hollies for one album titles What Goes Around with songs like “Take My Love and Run” and “Say You’ll Be Mine” among others. What is interesting that the single from this album was a Motown standard “Stop! In the Name of Love” and was not very well received in The Hollies interpretation. However, the group continues to play concerts and release new records. Finally, The Hollies time had ended and in 2003 a six-CD box set The Long Road Home: 1963 – 2003 was released covering every era in the group’s history. Then in 2006, The Hollies came back with their first new studio album in 23 years titled Staying Power. It was not widely distributed outside of England. A live-DVD was derived from a concert in Belgium in December 2006 and issued in 2007. In 2009 the group came back again with a new album Then, Now and Always. The Hollies were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and continued to tour in the U.K. and Europe and their road trip in 2012 resulted in another live album. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2014 and released a special three-disc collection, 50 at Fifty, a set, covering the group’s history in 50 songs and included a new track, “Skylarks”. How many The Hollies fans out there? https://www.allmusic.com/artist/the-hollies-mn0000087985/biography
Graham Nash played an important role in the early history of the Hollies, but after his departure in December 1968, the group achieved some of its greatest s...

As they say, time flies when you're having fun@JudyEv to which a friend of mine used to shout Are we having fun yet? The best thing is that the music can be listened to at any time.
