When you make spaghetti do you make your own sauce or use jarred?

I have always used jarred sauce unless I am making something like goulash. Goulash is something that I will sometimes make a sauce from scratch. That might be why I like it so much. It is one of the things that I like that is delicious and makes the best meal. What kind of sauce do you use, your own, or one from the store?

I make my own sauce as I could put some other veggies in it.

I don’t cook but my wife makes the both. If she had the ingredients and the time she would make the sauce and if not she would use jarred

Jarred is OK, but it doesn't really hold a candle to the real thing.

I am talking about sauce..there are few people who actually make spaghetti from scratch, and I don't think it is worth it do so.

My mom used hunts tomato sauce for the first 23 years of my life. Because it's what my grandmother and grandfather always used. But then just over a year ago we started using ragu meat sauce instead.. Which shes always used to make lasagna, and now I do.

I like both. When I am home canning I will make up a mess, but if I am out I like the jarred sauces too.

Some people make enough sauce to last all Winter. I knew somebody who said he hadn't bought any canned or jarred spaghetti sauce in years.

Yeah...it is good to make home made if you have the time I guess, but that isn't always possible. I always have spaghetti. I think the next time I make it, I am looking the options that I like.

I have an Italian friend who always makes her own sauce. We don't have pasta often as Vince isn't very fond of it. He reckons he had it too often as a child. I often have my 'pasta fix' when we eat out.

@snowy22315 Right now, her mind is so gone, she can't remember cooking at all, and she never had a written recipe, but at least she gave me a lot of good memories with her cooking and she was one of those people who would never sit down, but loved to make sure everyone had what they needed. Her cooking was pure love, sorry I didn't mean to write so much about it.

I use a jar of Ragu pasta sauce whenever I make spaghetti, or other pasta dish. I have actually never tried making my own sauce before, I am sure it would be good though! I might try it one day, do you have an easy recipe that you like to use?

Making sauce from scratch is time consuming. I’d go with good ol trusted spaghetti sauce brands.
