Are You Crafty?

What a wonderful surprise to wake up this morning to sunshine instead of the icy wintry mix they were predicting for overnight. The skies are mostly blue so it's doubtful that we'll see nasty weather today. I love sunshine!! Since the weather is totally the opposite of what I expected maybe it will be a good day to go out and run some errands. I'd love to make a trip to Hobby Lobby or Michaels and get some things I need for my crafting inventory. Originally I had planned on being a couch potato today since the weather was supposed to be so horrible. Do you like to craft? I'm having fun crocheting which seems to be my "thing" during the winter. I feel all warm and fuzzy when I'm crocheting and it keeps me busy while the tv is on. I hate to just sit and watch tv (unless it's something riveting). I know we have some very talented crafters here on myLot and I'm always happy to hear what everyone is working on.

Its sunny here too, and was 50 but now 45. We did have rain, wind and fog all last night from around 5pm to 9am this morning though. Not a craft person.

@Marilynda1225 Mrs J is, but me (This is Emmett), I'm not very good with my hands. Not having fingers is kind of limiting.

We have very cold weather here again too, below freezing. I had planned on reading today, but instead I went on a shopping binge.

Both two favorites pastimes of mine but I guess shopping would win over reading. I would just figure I can read later when the stores are closed

@Marilynda1225 I've read a couple of pages of the book, but it grabbed me as one of those books that once you start you cannot put down until its finished. So I don't want to pick it up until later on this afternoon.

The only craft I'm ever any good at is taking pictures other than that I'm totally useless. I'm so glad you got blue skies and sunshine, I hope it's warm enough to melt all the snow you get up yonder.

Well then we have something in common @Marilynda1225 I'm amazed at people who can create things with their hands like sewing or woodwork.

Yes, I like crafting, what I do wrong is that I start several projects, while I should finish something first.

I have more than one project going at the same time too Anna. I get bored easily if working on the same project for a long time.

I am pretty crafty but not as creative as I wish I was. My daughter is amazingly creative and artistic. I loved doing crafts when I was young and when my kids were young.

I did some knitting, crocheting and sewing before, but not very talented. I have arthritis in my fingers now and it makes everything difficult for me.

I can understand that having arthritis in your fingers can make crocheting and sewing difficult. I have some too and some days it's too painful to crochet but I do my best to enjoy it on the days when my fingers cooperate.

Yes I used to all the time, then when I moved here and began making a homestead, I did not have time or my hands were tired. However, I want to start making quilts.

I do like to sew, but I have not touched that sewing machine of mine in a very long time. It is dusty.

I don't sew much anymore (just the occasional loose button) as my eyes can't see those fine stitches or threading the needle. I did enjoy sewing when my children were younger but like you, my sewing machine is now a dust collector.

I hear you. Working takes up a lot of time and I didn't have as much free time to craft when I worked. Now I'm enjoying being retired and hopefully when you retire "again" you can get back into sewing and crafting.

Hello! I'm glad that you are experiencing good weather over there. We had rain since yesterday but the weather is generally fine compared to last week. Anyway, I love doing crafts..crocheting mostly and some other stuff...I just love crocheting..bags, tops, hats...it's a de-stressor for me...
