Well, today we donated one of our Labs to the Wounded Warrior Project. They are both taking it well. Hubby said that she was happy and everything and now back home my other dog Skye is doing okay. She a little sad but she is actually taking it pretty well right now. I am happy that she is going to someone that can use her and have a great companion. we still have Skye and the boys are happy about that so everyone is doing great. Aside from having some family issues going on right now I am a really happy camper.

@Keyia120 ok. So what exactly does donating a family companion do? There are countless dogs put to sleep in shelters? Sorry for asking so many questions. I'm trying to understand!

@Daelii Oh no you are fine, yes see the funding that Trump ended up stopping helped each wounded warrior with giving them a companion and yes you can use adoption agencies too, but the money is gone so we have some people that are in the service giving their dogs for a nice cause. They do more than just that though. I mean there are programs that they give them and everything. I was upset when Trump stop the funding for this project because it was helping millions of warriors. We are a military family and we know how hard things can be. I mean it is a non-profit organization so they go off of funding and donations for all of their different programs. Some of the programs include connecting them and their family to peers, programs, and communities. Provide free mental health and wellness, career and benefits counseling, and support for most server injured warriors, and physical health and wellness. empower them to live life on their terms, mentor fellow warriors, embody the WWP by carrying their peers toward recovery. When it comes to the companions they train them and send them to a warrior that could use them if they are in need like blind, can't really move ext. You can train dogs to do so much for someone. I always tell my friends if they are getting rid of their dogs for free and would love to help out they could think about the Wounded warrior project before sending them to the pound. Yes, they can adopt from the pound, but we had an extra companion that we were willing to donate on our end so that is something that we decided to do and my hubby is a veteran so we try and help any way we can no matter what but even if we were not military I would still try and help them because they had funding that was helping them with all of these programs and for a man to come into office and just cut the funding for it is ridiculous to me. here is a link to the Wounded Warrior Project and what they do. Having a companion is just a small part of what they are offering. we learned about it because a lady on our base was talking to my husband about it and we decided to donate one of our girls.
