Martin Luther King is one person I remember learning about extensively in school, he was a minister and, leading activist in the civil rights movement, he is of course most remembered, for his I have a dream speech and, I still remember our teacher had us right a speech of our own, was pretty cool and. I might write one for a post later, sadly King was assassinated by James Earl Ray on April 4th 1968. Some information verified at Wikipedia. King also won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work. I remember when he was assassinated and I remember the speech. It wasn't too long after that that Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June.

I wish he was here now and could be our president, he could calm people down to respect others and their opinions.

Oprah or Michelle Obama might run next time, but yes King would have made a great president.

Oh, man, has it been 50 years since he was assassinated. I remember the day....and I remember the year. It was a horrible time in America.
