Feeling Blah

I shouldn't be depressed. I certainly have no reason to be now that it's snowing. However, I am a bit down and feeling like I don't want to do anything.
After thinking about the reasons why, there is only one explanation for it. My writing. I have noticed in the past my emotions are tied closely to my writing. When things are going good in the story I'm very happy. When they're not, I'm not happy, and right now, things are not so great in the story.
I think I need to get back to it and get to a happy place in the story to boost my mood.
I've tried hard to interact here, but I'm afraid my comments might not be good if I stay here much longer. So I think I'm going to get back to Thread of Evidence and find my happy place again.
Do your moods go along with what you are doing? Thanks for reading.

Whenever I get down I pray, listen to worship music or watch a Todd White video on youtube. It always brings me happiness when I think about what God has done for me and how far we have come in life.

Good to hear that your mood has improved. I was going to suggest that you see a specialist since you mentioned that you are depressed, and depression is no small matter. I've heard that one way to tell if you are suffering from depression is to observe your energy level after sleeping. We sometimes feel that we are in a bad mood, but that is just our body telling us that we need to rest and sleep. If you still feel lethargic even after sleeping, then that could be depression.

I don't suffer from depression. I'm usually happy and upbeat. I just go through emotional swings when I'm writing, especially this book. It's taken me on a roller coaster ride and I'm not done with this edit/revision yet.

@yokibitz It's okay. I'm sure it will be helpful for anyone else suffering from it. I never have. I experience those occasional bouts of depression like most people, they seldom last more than a day, and this one was no exception.

I can see how that would happen. I know if I dream it can effect how I feel. I also find that I am very much influenced by the weather conditions. Too hot, too cold, I am depressed. If I do not go outside enough, I am depressed.

I'm sorry you're feeling depressed, and even with the snow, you cannot help how you feel. :( I really hope your mood as gotten better since this post. And sometimes my moods go down when I come across negativity on social media, so I'm working on not letting little things like that get to me in 2018. And sometimes I don't have an explanation. I hope your story gets to a place that does boost your mood.

I am rarely moody but if I am off I don't hang around here either, I hope working on it helps your mood.

@kobesbuddy This is why I prefer not to comment when there is something wrong that made me angry.

@LadyDuck Yes, I do the exact same thing. Others here might think, 'Hey, what's wrong with Kharla, she's so negative today!'

Aw I'm sorry that you're not feeling the greatest and I hope it turns around quick. I find the opposite - that how I feel dictates how well what I'm doing goes

Find light in your darkness... take free on-line courses (tons may be found on pinterest), start a new hobby, read a book you have been wondering about, get a pen pal (there is a website called interpals where you can find love to learning a new language), read some blogs and sign up for their newsletters, exercise, try a new dish, watch a funny movie, the options are endless. We have only been given one life. Find the light in the darkness.

Thank you for your concern. I think you missed the paragraph where I said it was tied to my writing. I don't suffer from depression, not in the clinical sense. I have plenty to keep me busy.

@Angela150 I hope you find another job soon. I can see how that would put you down.

Uncertain Future. It's there and on the plan book to get it finished along with New Horizons. Thread of Evidence is one I want to get published this year. I'm two-thirds the way through the first edit/revision of the rough draft. When I get that done, I'll go back to one of those two books while I let this one sit a while so I can see what still needs taking care of when I get back to it. Everything takes time.
