Do you often get what you want?

Today government offices and schools and banks were closed due to the Martin Luther King birthday commemoration. I have done a lot of necessary things around the house that I often put off. I loved it! I had no reason or inclination to go anywhere. It is too cold. I took trash out is all. As the day drew to a close I found myself wishing that we would have a "snow day" tomorrow. I was not expecting it. There is not any more precipitation in the forecast, just cold. I wanted to putter around some more. Right before dinner I got a phone call. No school tomorrow. Start two hours late on Wednesday!! It is hard to believe, I got what I wanted. Many districts around the area are doing exactly the same. It is because of the severe cold and wind chills. That will be fine by me. My image is a bridge we can see from a highway. I have wanted to see it closer and get a picture for a long time. Sunday when we went for a drive we accidentally found our self here and I had my camera. I got what I wanted.

I do get what I want sometimes. I got what I wanted on Saturday and I told the higher ups I would not stop till I got what I wanted. Its getting cold here again with snow, yuck!

I was glad you were heard. . . and I hope it keeps you safe. Too many punks think they are immune from consequences.

I would say yes, most of the time. But I'm a pretty realistic person so I know I can't get everything that I want. Glad you got what you wanted!

I try to be realistic. I just knew I did not want to go out and commute to work today. My wants were simple.

I love that bridge! Friday night the door to the pantry one of the hinges came off the door (screws pulled out.) Our guy friend came over on Saturday and worked on it. Then, today he finished it up and mopped the main part of the house. I was pretty good Saturday, but today I was suffering. I got up, got dressed and lay back down for a few hours. Got up for a bit and went back to bed again. I've hooked up the wife and have taken my pills. We've treated the kitten, who is sick, again, and now I need to take my liquid meds and go back to bed, again.

We have some pretty cool bridges around here. It sounds as if you are having some really rough times. This school year will be the last I work. I need to be able to lay down from time to time.

@GardenGerty I can understand, I have been known to spend most of the day in bed, not something I really enjoy doing... Yesterday I promised our guy friend that I would call him at 4 a.m. to make sure he got up so he could get to work early today. Right after I called him, Gabby took a swing at another cat, jumped and sank a nail in right under my left eye. Not sure I'm up on my tetanus shot.

There are some things that are easy to get. Others are impossible.

Then maybe I should wish for some rain! No rain in the immediate forecast . . . let's see what tomorrow brings me .

It is always nice to have a day off. I saw something maybe on facebook. A guy was interviewing people about Martin Luther King Jr. and he was trying to get them to think and told them that he was a President and other things and he should be on Mt. Rushmore. Finally at the end somebody got it. It was amusing.

Awesome about the unexpected delay. I love old bridges I always want to photograph them and walk across them and under them if I can.

A lot of people have a variety of the flu. It is something that comes on quickly with a fever. Are you safe from the volcano?

The extra day off was pure luck. The bridge was actually an accident. Other times I do have to work very hard.

Many of our students are rural and buses might have issues that would leave them exposed. Also lots of kids are dropped off early and left late and would be subject to weather hazards.
