Humorous Sibling Rivalry Between my Daughters

Even though our youngest two daughters are in their late 30s, there is still a little sibling rivalry between them. The following Facebook conversation between our daughters had my husband and me laughing out loud when we read it: California daughter: It's raining out and I needed milk, so I ordered my groceries delivered. Totally worth the $5. Delaware daughter: It's 23 degrees out and I shoveled six inches of snow off the driveway so I could take my preschoolers to the store. California daughter: I didn't want to get out in the rain. Delaware daughter: Posted a YouTube video titled "When It Rains in LA." It shows a group of LA office workers in total panic when they hear it rain! The link to the video is at the end of this article. (LOL) Sometimes, we just can't help laughing at our daughters! (Photo is one I took of Walden Pond in Massachusetts when our Delaware daughter lived in Boston and she took us there. The snow is never a deterrent for her!)

Funny ! I know why your Delaware daughter posted the video to your California daughter. In the video ,people are all in a great panic when it rains,as if they were struck by an earthquake.

Yes! It is easy for my Delaware daughter to make fun of my California daughter, especially when she doesn't want to get outside in the rain.

LA workers look a lot like those in Monte-Carlo, if it rains do not expect a repair man to come to your apartment.

@DeborahDiane Monte-Carlo is a funny place, if you are not in a hurry to have something done.

@LadyDuck - In general, many Californians are very laid back and relaxed, although we also have that group who are always in a hurry and rushing around. They drive me crazy!

@LadyDuck - That is funny, too! It sounds like Monte-Carlo is a lot like Southern California.

@DeborahDiane I think that's usually the case. I was mean to my brothers too when I was younger but now we get along really well. Some sibling rivalries go beyond just petty fights and carry on for so long. So I reckon you also must be great parents for raising them up to become lovely ladies.

@Theresaaiza - Thank you for saying we must be great parents. I appreciate that. I'm also glad that all four of our daughters get along well as adults. I agree that some sibling rivalries go on far too long. I'm glad that has not happened in our family.

@Theresaaiza - Our daughters get along well, now that they are adults. They fought a lot as kids, though!

Oh, my! It rained! I have tried several times to post a photo of my car buried under the snow here, DD. For whatever reason, myLot won't let me post it. *shrug*

my car in the snow. Picture is mine.
@DeborahDiane Yes, but I think the difficulty was mine, in this case. I still don't understand why since I have taken and posted pics from my phone before. After I reduced the size of my picture, I could post it. It didn't take too long to knock all the snow off my car. It was a pain digging the driveway out, though.

@DaddyEvil - I grew up in Missouri, and I remember weather like that. It is a relief to live in Southern California now, as I get older! Hope you are staying warm and comfy!

Hilarious video. Loved the last about the earthquake. I've been in a few of those and California rainstorms too.

@Hannihar - I am close to my sister, but we live 1,500 miles apart. We see each other two or three times a year because she has to go to Las Vegas about that often on business and that is within driving distance of where I live. Whenever she goes there, we hop in the car and go see her and her husband. That has kept us in contact. We only rarely go to each others homes, although we have.

@Tampa_girl7 - You are so right. Age does not matter when it comes to the relationship between sisters. They are actually very fond of each other, despite the teasing.

That is funny. I much prefer rain to snow. My daughter in Portland thinks little of ordering food delivered though I think the costs are exorbitant.

@JamesHxstatic - Generally, I think the costs are exorbitant, too. However, I have found some good deals. Amazon Now will deliver food in our area and, if you order more than $30 worth, there is no delivery charge if you are a Prime member. There is also a local business which will deliver a complete meal, with enough food for both my husband and me, for about $20 ... no delivery fee and no tipping. Either one is a great deal, in a pinch.

@JamesHxstatic - Tonight we ordered an 8 ounce boneless flat iron steak, a side salad, fresh green beans, and corn on the cob. The total cost was $21.50, including delivery, and it was enough food to fill us both up. We couldn't go out to dinner for that. In fact, I don't think I could have prepared all that food at home for that amount. Last week, we had a similar salmon dinner, and it was only $19.50. Hard to beat those prices!

They don't call California "La, La, Land" for nothing (just kidding) Some good natured ribbing back and forth by your daughters is a fun way to tease each other.
