Most people who know me know that I'm a huge Hugh Jackman fan. I am also a huge fan of musicals. Singin' in the Rain will probably always be my favorite movie, so when I found out Hugh Jackman was doing a musical I was super hyped to see it. I don't count Les Mis, because I don't care how great some people thought that movie was I seriously believe it to be overrated. I had a difficult time sitting through that whole thing, and I feel that didn't do Hugh's singing voice justice. The Greatest Showman, however, really did do his voice justice. The critics didn't care for it, but I've found that typically they don't like anything that isn't pretentious. Usually for a movie to be good in their eyes it can't be something that most of the general public can actually understand and has to be wordy with some deep metaphor or something. I sat through the movie and I genuinely loved it. Hugh has always kind of reminded me of a modern day Gene Kelly, albeit nowhere near as good of a dancer as Gene Kelly but still a decent dancer and singer. I loved the music and have been humming it since I saw it. Most of the people I know who has seen it has loved it, my husband included. He really didn't want to see it but begrudgingly went with me and now he has been as obsessed with it as me. We have been listening to the soundtrack on youtube. I really loved the dance numbers along with the music. I mean you have to see it as a movie about PT Barnum and not as a documentary, of course, they didn't get every inch of his life and they definitely through the Hollywood spin on it, I mean Hugh looks nothing like PT Barnum, Hugh is A LOT better looking but the point is I still enjoyed it. I think the entire cast did an amazing job but I'm not a critic, to be fair though I've never listened to critics some of my favorite movies have been movies critics hated. Stacy said it best when she referenced movie critics to that of the critic in The Greatest Showman, you'll get that later if you do watch it. I told her she was right. Regardless if you like musicals I'm pretty sure you'll appreciate this one. I myself am usually an older musical fan but this is the first modern musical I can truly say I've liked. Most of the newer ones are not my cup of tea but this is definitely one I can get behind. Then again I watched Oklahoma with him and liked that one too, and way better than the old movie, but to be fair I wasn't a fan of most of the actors in the movie. If you have seen the movie what did you think?

I haven't seen it but I love Hugh Jackman too. I don't take any notice of the critics either. My view is always way different to theirs so it's best for me if I don't take any notice of them.

I think you'll like it. My view is almost always different too. I don't care what the critics say, Les Mis was horrible in my opinion, the worst 3 hours I've spent watching anything lol. I like Hugh but that movie didn't suit his singing voice. It must be nice being so close to where he's from. I live in a state where everyone flees from lol. There are few celebrities that ever come this way that I care about, and the decent ones that were from here hardly ever come back. Where I'm actually from does hail a few celebrities but not many make it back this way. Scott Hamilton is from here (well raised here, he was adopted from Canada as a baby), and several celebrities went to school at the university here. Katie Holmes is from a neighboring city but as a whole not many come back this way after leaving.

I have not seen this film. I do know Jackman did "Oklahoma" back in Australia when he was not famous.

I know Hugh did Oklahoma in London, I don't know if he did it in Australia or not. I have the movie of him doing the London version on stage. It was shortly after that that he got his role as Wolverine.
